Day 7 today...s**t hit the fan on Weds as we were refused credit by bank for home improvements, my wife has an exemplary credit rating 999, whereas I had a default put on in 2011 due to failing to pay credit card, she didn't know this, have had to own up..has caused major issues since, not talking etc..but gonna have to fight on..I just feel totally selfish and have wasted so much money which we could now be using for kids Uni etc..for all I know, she could be filing for divorce right now...praying for some sort of positive resolution...
Steve here! 41 and a gambler as of 4 days ago...no more! enjoying this site. its hard but i know i can do it! seeing a counselor on wednesday through my local CAB. If theres anyone in my area (Newport south wales) would like to meet up?
I would like to join the challenge. I'm 23 and this my 2nd attempt at giving it up but didn't look for help the last time
Looking forward to the challenge ahead. 9 days free and feeling super positive!! My next biggest challenge is 31March and pay day, although I will be in the USA so much easier to cope without any gambling outlets!!
Good luck everyone!
Hi Mr Brightside 🙂
I said I would join when I had a few spare minutes, so here I am.
For those who have not read my diary, you can find it by seaching 'My journey, the diary of a croupier' or look in recovery diaries.
A bit about me: Im a croupier, been gambling for 7ish years, been in the industry for about 10 years and still face it every day I go to work.... I am currently 97 days clean as I stopped on 7th Dec the same as Mr Brightside. This is the longest I have been clean for 6 years I think.
If you would like to know more, please read my diary.
Many thanks 🙂
Scambling
Sounds interesting

all the best to everyone else
Hi all and welcome to all newbies!
Just to let you all know I am not able to post much because my laptop broke and am having to use kindle which crashes all the time. Anyway I think I'm on day 94 and going strong x
Linda
P.s I hope Mr b and Phil etc have a great time tonight and I'm up for meeting up a bit further down if anyone else fancies it x
Hi everyone! 19 days and feeling great! Keep up the good work everyone.life gets better everyday you don't gamble!
25 weeks free today! Really pleased. Big welcome to all new challengers. Well done all.
Hi, day one after yet another relapse and I would like to join the challenge. I have a diary thread for anyone who wants to know more. I have gambled in secret for years and I'm attempting recovery on my own. Man is it tough!
Afternoon everyone!!!
So it's just over 24 hours before check in closes this week - we're missing 9 members but have 8 new ones!! I'll formally welcome all the new team members in the update tomorrow.
I'm checking in on behalf of Craig (2012theyear) - our thoughts are with you mate and we hope that you and family can get through this tough time. Take care.
I wonder about the impact that Cheltenham has had this week - on current members and new members. With another huge festival on the horizon in 3 weeks, I really hope that those of you that horse racing was a problem can stay strong and get through it.
I have to admit that I'm quite concerned about a few of the team - they would have normally checked in by now........hopefully it'll still happen between now and 3pm tomorrow. If we do get a number of check ins then we could be over 30 members in the team!!
Have a good weekend everyone, stay committed to self, family, friends and the rest if your team mates on this challenge!!
I am Mr Brightside and I am checking in on 97 days clean.
day 2 gamble free up to now
First full day gamble free after my relapse. Happy to say I didn't slip back into my usual weekend routine of getting up checking what races were on and the odds on the football.
When at my worst I would usually have full day betting on the horses as well as a number of accumulators on the football and probably a bet or 2 on the gaa here in Ireland. Have done none of these today and long may it continue
Checking in on day 30
Feeling good about things heading up to dundee on Monday for Paddys day, seem to think I'll be coming face to face with my worst enemy... The casino, I've phoned up to exclude myself so even if I try I won't be let in but I hope that I don't feel the need to anyway
All the best everyone
Happy Paddys 😉
Batman
enjoy the trip batman
gamble free
