Stephen its sounds like me a few years ago. I used to make excuses about why I couldn't give someone else control of my money. And time and time again I would stop and then slip up and blow everything in an afternoon of madness. I do believe if you want to stop its the most important thing. There is always someone who can help you.

thanks for the advice but i require will power and self control.

Ive handed countless bank cards, laptops over. Means nothing if on payday you say "hey can you leave the bank card out" and its lift for me to use. Im sure its worked for other people but i wouldnt say i have no one to ask if i dont.

My ma walked past me the other day and didnt say hello.

Last month i told her "can you mind me bank card and laptop for me to stop gamnbling. Done let me have when i ask for it on payday"

Payday comes along. I sent a text to her to leave out the stuff and its left out for me again. No texts "are you sure you want it".

So i appreciate the advice but it doesnt apply to my situation

Count me in. From today I am stopping this major problem in my life. I have a partner and child and another on the way it's about time I got out of this rut and thought about more important things in life rather than throwing my money at the bookies. Have never felt suicidal but I suppose that is because I have such great people around me even though they don't know about my problem. Let's all do this and start fresh

Forgot to say I have only contacted gam care today and tomorow I'm going to self exclude myself from all the bookies I would visit. Scared of doing this as everyone will recognise me but I don't care because I'll never see them again as only place I see them is the bookies. I have only told one person about my problem and that's my sister but she thinks I'm clean. I don't want anyone to know and want to get my finances sorted over next three years which I can do if I don't gamble so it's the only way for me. Hopefully this will help me

Checking in on day 17, still gambling free and still trying to keep myself occupied. Really wish there weren't so many adverts on TV for online casinos though. Good luck everybody for the rest of the week.

Morning all!

Not sure what's going on with the site just now, but I put a large post on yesterday - talking directly to ZZZ, Stephen, Joanna, Mike18 and others, but for some reason it appeared and then disappeared again. Really strange one.

Apologies, but I am checking out of my accommodation and stuff this morning in readiness for a flight this evening so don't have the time to recreate the same post - I'm back home tomorrow so will catch up then. I'll also update the front page.

Hope everyone is doing well and I'll be back in track soon!!

Very quickly for the potential recruits - can I ask that you all repost at least once between now and Sunday in order to be added to the team this Sunday? Be clear on the required commitments!!

Thanks and stay strong,

Mr Brightside

Really appreciate all the support from everyone on here Mr B I took your advice and told my Mrs everything on Monday night, after a lot of shouting at first she calmed down and now is on my side to try and help support me as best she can, I also returned to GA on Monday night for the first time in over a year, it helps going there

Day 4 check in. Sounds strange to be proud of such a low total but honestly can't remember the last time I went 4 days without a bet. Feeling really strong ahead of the weekend. My wife says she can't remember me being in such good form!!!!! There's a lesson in that.

Day one completed, it wasn't hard at all I kept myself busy all day and when I thought about betting or anything I just said to myself inside don't even think about it it's a waste it time and money. Hope every day is like this and before I know it I won't even think of it for any longer than a second. Keep her lit. Only problem that does worry me is my finances but I'm working and I'm sure I can get something sorted to get my debts paid off any advice on this?

Day 11 done and 1st weeks check in. Have shaken off this latest blip, have the sensible hat back on and can't believe how a few hours of madness can have been so costly. Feel positive though that being in the group can keep my focus.

Hi everyone........ hope that you are all having a good week. Checking in...... Day 18 I think 🙂 been so busy I have lost count.

Still staying strong and positive though. I've experienced a few urges (as I had always used gambling as a form of escape from my life) However, I have stayed in control and worked through any issues that I have encountered. I have also been re-united with my creative side and have lots of projects on the go to help me through my spare time. Life so far is good..... Good luck for the rest of the week all. God bless. Hayley xx
