Mike 3k sounds like a lot but imagine how much bigger the amount would grow if you started to gamble again. I'm paying out a large amount every month for the next few months and it does get me down, but its progress and an important part of our recovery. I spent years stressing over gambling losses and chasing money lost but all it did was get me deeper and deeper into debt. Stay strong and concentrate on beating this a day at a time.

Thanks everyone

Just what I needed some words of encouragement and support you are all right I need to focus in paying it back and not let it get me down!!!

Even more important once it's paid do not slip back in to a gambling life I never want to feel like this again!!

Thanks again everyone!!!

Hi everyone!

24 hours to check in for this week and I'll update the front page tomorrow!

Del - already praying and have been for a while. Additional family members are there too. I have the faith that Mrs Del won't be drinking on the one year anniversary celebration night.

Chirst21 - welcome home soldier - so good to see you here and that you've racked up so many days!

Mike - that's what this challenge is predominantly about - it's not about the numbers or the stats, it's about recovery. You are going to make it. Delighted for you mate.

Ringerbell - that is sensational news!! The gift of recovery is bearing fruit.......and while I don't have firm news for you on my personal mission to support Clodagh, I'm thinking that signs are positive that something might come through from my contacts! Will keep you posted.

RST - sad news mate, but another learning taken and another strengthened barrier - we are here and you will never be alone. Don't beat yourself up - start afresh and understand what went wrong. Email me if you want to chat but I expect you to be checking in!

Sonic Boom - you know, I was blown away by the maturity and the common sense in your response to my last message to you........and you are spot on - Day 1, Day 100, Day 1000.......it's about arresting the past and you're doing it. Watch for the Roll of Honour on Sunday for the position.......and send a message to bornagain's diary for pricking my conscience on your last few days!!! This thread is about progress and the honesty and humility you've demonstrated encapsulates that perfectly and should be applauded rather than "penalised". Proud to be walking with you mate.

Julio - many many congratulations on your membership award to the Century Club..........Saturday 14th June is your day soldier!!!

Night night everyone!!

Mr Brightside

Hi Mr B thanks for the mention on reaching my milestone of 50 days gamble free......now checking in at 55 days and how great it feels. I am inspired by everyone's posts and though I'm unable to contribute to diaries due to difficulty typing I try to read as many as I can. Keep fighting and being strong this is a battle we're in together and can win with the help and support of each other.

Hi All - checking in on Day 9 of being Gamble Free. I am inspired by all the success stories in diaries and in this challenge. I am also saddened by others pain and suffering and being unable to do much to help except put my experiences on here and hope they assist others to be and stay strong. Thank you Mr B for this opportunity. Walking forwards to a gamble free future, one day at a time, abstaining by choice. Cliff

Checking in today, losing track of how many days to be honest (which is a good thing really) ).

Enjoying watching the world cup for the quality of football on show and not the worry, willingness and anxiousness of having a bet on a game. Living a stress free world cup & less stressful life in general,

Keep the guard up guys,

Drew
