Phil, don't feel too bad about missing the update last week. As far as I'm concerned you're doing a great job on here. Everyone has periods when the going gets rough and they need to take time out to pick themselves up. Really appreciate the time you've put in on the Challenge. It's helped to keep me away from backing horses etc. 126 days "clean" now.
Cheers.
Checking in on Day 84. Simple week for me, Busy at work and fully focusing on my holiday in a couple of weeks!
154 days clean. Onward Christian Soldiers.

Challenge Update Week 21
Intro
Right troops the update is here after a week that’s been a struggle for me. So apologies for missing last week, but in future I will remain on top of this. Most important thing I need each of you to do this week is to check you are still on the front page and check I have the correct count of days for you in this update. I use my phone, spreadsheets and also a note book to keep track of everybody and ensure this is run correctly, new members come and go, people slip and have new counts etc….. and it needs a daily routine to keep on top of it, as I have just had a week off I fear I may have missed someone out or made an error so please check all my info is correct. If you are not on the front page or I have an incorrect count let me know and I will correct it.
So we head towards the end of May 56 strong, which is a really impressive amount of troops. Clearly some of us have had our struggles lately and we really need to focus on what worked for us right back on day one when we started this journey and also think hard about what’s making it hard right now, or what made us slip. So many of you are making hugely impressive progress and it gives hope and inspiration to anyone new here or struggling with urges.
A New Challenge From Phil
I have wanted to give up on this site during the past couple of weeks, something in my head is screaming out that I should leave the forum and just enjoy my gambling, its telling me there’s money to be won and countless systems are going through my head! This week brings payday so its high danger time for me and many others. My New York trip is hanging on a bare thread now, if I gamble in the next 102 days I really will blow it and have to miss my holiday. So it leaves me thinking how do I recharge my batteries and get back the urgency I had and the enjoyment I took from fighting this addiction and enjoying life gamble free. The answer has to be to believe in this forum, this challenge and my diary has worked so well in the past and I need to get back to how I was and fight on.
So my new challenge to all of you is to continue this fight and reach the end of 2015 without a bet. For those of you who are still on for a full calendar year gamble free, I salute you, you are doing so well and I hope I can do likewise in the future. But for those who have struggled lately, no doubt experiencing the same emotions and struggles as me it’s time to put it behind you and focus on the remaining 7 months of 2015. We can still make amazing things happen, so let’s make this last couple of weeks the last time any of us slip up!
Potential Soldiers?
As most of you know to sign up to the challenge you need to make a post introducing yourself and then one checking yourself in. This is because a fair few post on here and then disappear. Also if you miss check in and then come back it’s important to post at least once a week. The following posters need to let me know if they want to be added to the challenge next week and are committed to checking in once a week, Pepper02, mac09, urbansky and Stormtrooperpete. You are all welcome, I just need a check in post from you!

Summing Up
After a weeks madness things are settled down and this challenge will be updated on time every Sunday going forwards. Check in is now open and I would love a 100% retention rate this coming week. Its payday for a lot of us next week, so stay strong, and May is soon to be out of the way! This week has once again shown what a strong group we are and it’s great to see the support we have for each other. If anyone has any urges or is feeling low then post a message and you will get support and useful advice. Remember you can also use the Wednesday night chatroom and Sergeant Triangle will be around to offer his support. You can also message me on [email protected] for a telephone list if you need to talk to anyone, or with any input for the challenge, if you want to write something to go on the weekly update it would be appreciated.
Have a great week troops and stay strong!
Phil

thanks for the update Phil, i know its a time consuming process but its appreciated.
and thanks paul for the support, i really had urges yesterday but its good to know i have a place where i can say that. Whats really helped is handing over access to my money. I have small amount of money and even with that small amount i was tempted. thats important for me to recognise how powerless i am with gambling.
best of luck to everyone next week, my only advice would be to write a post/talk to someone if you get a urge
Great update - really appreciate the effort and how you have a peaceful week.
Early check in for me.....prefer to leave til end of the week but flying out to Cyprus for a wedding tomorrow.
Feeling strong and positive - have done a full birthday year without a bet now and never felt further away from one!
Take care
Gary
