Day 369 - checking in.

No urges for 5 weeks now. Ready & waiting to kick through the next one. We can reprogramme our gambling brains and live well again. Small steps every day lead to a good life. Suzy

As my urge to gamble rises I'll take the sensible decision to check in instead. My urges have since passed but were very strong early on but I took a moment thought about how I'd feel if I bet and worked out how much I'd win and would that win be worth it - no win wod be worth the feeling I'll have on New Year's Eve celebrating a year gamble free, I have this challenge to thank for me not bettin so thanks phil I'm fairly certain I would have gambled today as I wrote out a £20 bet and I I had no real goal i would've convince myself I could spare that £20 (which would've never have stayed at just £20) so thanks and thanks again Phil your work is appreciated and I'm feeling proud that I have resisted on what has been one of the tougher days.

Checking in this week 14 days gamble free. No urges at present but been down this road before and not taking any chances by making sure I have all the blocks in place. Thanks phil for a having a great thread, it's a good incentive to keep going strong.

Welcome to the challenge Gerry8, once you have made another post you will be added to the front page and checked in. I hope that Ecuador bet will be your last and you will embrace recovery like so many others on here.

insanity don't give me the credit for beating your urge, you made the choice not to gamble and I'm proud of you for doing so. I hope the rest of the week doesn't test you and I'm pleased you chose to check in on here instead of placing that bet. That 'innocent' 20 pound bet could have led to something far more destructive, so well done for resisting!
