Hi all,
Please see below the latest days count for all of us still marching. We're into the final quarter of the year so a fantastic achievement so far. For many, this brings its own challenges with money pressures so be sure to make the right decisions. No bet is worth the peace of mind of continued abstinence and recovery.
Gambling is readily available but so is the support available! Please make sure you use the help available..the gambling urges will try to isolate you and prey on your vulnerability..don't allow it.
Have a great week ahead and congrats to all the milestoners this week...although every day is an amazing milestone. Welcome to the new members and a brave post from TheGerman who has slipped but dusted himself down and started again. Also welcome back to WIllDo79.

Thank you Gary for the weekly update with some fine words of wisdom for us all to reflect on.
Have a good week folks.
Mike
Back from my holiday & checking in on day 72. No gambling urges whilst away so hopefully I can come back and keep the gamble free day count increasing.
Hi this is me strange. I am joining this challenge (if that's ok) as I haven't been on this site for over a year and I need to focus. I had done really well but failed miserably and slipped into terrible debt. I have now joined step change and I am repaying my debts through them. This means I am on alight budget and unable to get any form of credit. Whilst I panicked for future important purchases, I am relieved I cannot go into deeper debt. The reason I have rejoined this site is to help me not gamble away my tiny budget. I have so far and my cycle is I get paid gamble then wait for a month before I get paid again with no life in between. It's ridiculous. . I want to stay on this challenge and be part of a team going into 2016.
Welcome Strange,
I will add you to the days count for this week. Can you confirm how many days you are currently without a bet.
Have you put in place any measures to prevent you from gambling as, sometimes, willpower is not enough. Certainly in the short-term, consider handing over finances to a loved one or trusted friend. Remove the means to gamble and then the days will ratchet upwards.
Wishing you all the best.
Checking in on day 494 i have to be extra vigilate as i have just sold my house and so have a lot of money in my account, just need to stick to the triangle principle and stay strong, one day at a time
Thanks Gary. Afraid it's day 1 for me. Whilst I have cut down massively in last 3 months I still have faltered. I am on a tight budget and cannot get credit so when I lose, I am left with nothing. The money isn't everything it's the self loathing that I hate. I have to stop to save myself from this continuous self destruct feeling I have all the time .
Thanks for the update Gary.
Checking in day 145. Hoping the job hunt is nearly over with interviews lined up.
No time to think of gambling though which is a good thing.
Best wishes everyone this week.
Clare
