Just in from work and its good to see that StoneRoses and matty21 have checked back in safe and sound. Sad to hear about your slip egfr, but its good you have come straight back on here. In some ways its so tough to come back after a slip so you and Pabby should be proud of yourselves for having the strength to come back. This weeks update can certainly help you out, have a read.

Thanks for the positive feedback,I'm glad the updates are appreciated. Keep strong troops, this is our year!

Great update Phil,

Checking in on day 287.

Very well done to the milestones reached last week, and I look forward to seeing the milestones reached this week.

Stay strong and positive soldiers and another gamble free week will be successfully achieved, by abstaining and maintaining taking one day at a time,

Suzanne xx

Go team!!!
Day 6 for me, feels good however the repercussions of the whole mess is becoming more and more difficult, which (un)naturally makes me want to do one thing.....

Strength for a reason....

Just checking in this week on Day 592, always welcome to give any advice if needed. Would be wrong if I said I didnt have urges but unfortunately they are still there but its how you remain focussed and shift your energy to other things. There is a new song by the charlatans called let the good times be never ending, this could be my new motto!

Take care one and all

Krishan

Checking in day 148.

For those who have not returned or slipped up and feel that they can't come back to this challenge as they would be behind. Please do come back.

I slipped up twice quite last year and came back as I needed something to keep me motivated. Aim for that first 100 days, it can be done.

There are still over 320 days left of the year.

Make this your year to change.

Sorry, I forgot to add the 3 things that work for me:

1) Honesty and transparency - Telling those around me what I am, how I have got to this point and what I am doing to help myself. Without the pressure of having to lie each and every day it is easier to cope and put a plan in place to get through one day at a time. It's amazing how much support I've received through being honest.

2) Finances - handing control of my finances to someone else. This measure gives transparency on my spending and even of I did break (which is not going to happen) I can only do a very small amount of damage.

3) GA - Coupled with these forums GA has been an incredibly powerful tool and is an adrenaline shot in the arm once a week. I have forged really good relationships with some extremely supportive people that also have the desire to stop gambling.

In late December I honestly thought I would never have been able to stop gambling. The urges each day were just too strong. To be 52 days GF today is amazing. The debt isn't going away but it's all on the table now so no going back. This is me for life, no more gambling = happy life.

Have a good week fellow soliders.

Good to see its been a busy day on here and we have plenty of early check ins. Its brilliant to read how well you are doing Better life, well done on 52 days and just imagine how happy life will be on December the 31st after a full year without gambling! Rst.Ex-CG thats a really positive post, I too slipped last year but I'm back stronger than ever. As you say theres a long time to go this year so anyone who has fallen get checking back in and make this your year!

Day 1 successfully negotiated, sister bailed me out again dunno what i would do without her. Paid my last payment on one of my credit cards today, only have one remaining which only has a balance of £500.

My facebook feed is absolutely full of peoples coupon for the day, im thinking about blocking these friends content! I had one remaining betting site online 666bet where i had self excluded myself from the casino but left the sports betting open, 2 days ago when i slipped i nipped on thinking about trying a coupon and i dont know why but they had lifted the self exclusion on the casino saying a new policy, can only self exclude from the whole site. £20 turned into another, another then another.....you know the story! That account is now shut and i look forward to marching forward!
