Checking in, reached day 30 now and happier than I've been in a long long time
Forgot to check in last week, checking in today as day 49
Enjoy York Phil !
I hit 50 days yesterday and now I'm in the half century club I don't want to look back. Been feeling more optimistic the past few days about not giving in to daft urges to visit the bingo hall.
Great update by Tick Follows Tock the other day ... Good tip to give the gambling urges a voice so that you can (without appearing mad) inwardly argue that there is no rationale or good reason to gamble when those urges strike !
Have a safe and strong weekend fellow soldiers on the 2015 challenge. Over 12% of the year gone so far and if you've come this far you have to see it through. Hopefully many people are now feeling the financial benefits of not gambling 🙂

Checking in on day 15
Evening all,
I would like to join the 2015 challenge, a good incentive is what i really need. The last year i was GF for the first 5 months of the year after being on a trip to new zealand where i really enjoyed myself and must have really cleared my mind at the time. The big collapse was actually a temptation during the grand national, and from there it was back to my old ways, having no money for the majority of the month. Either going on FOBT, bets on horses, in the casinos or online. From the age of 18 i have been the same with the only spaces before last year being due to lack of funds to gamble. Luckily i have not got any debts to cover so I need to resolve these urges now before that even is thought of as an option.
Today is day 2 and I need to be free, for my mental health, my relationships and so i can enjoy life without worrying of lack of cash or walking round numb for the majority of the month.
As this is week 1 by next week i will have gone to every bookie i have ever visited around my work, house, work flat in London and any that are on routes i travel a lot.
I guess the only awkward thing i cannot really self exclude is i own part of a race horse, but luckily that is being sold on the 24th so that will be the end of that.

Ok so after me being so supportive last week I have myself been a bit of an idiot, got paid, spent it all and a lot more in a few days. Maxed overdraft and credit cards again.
Really considering telling a friend now, he is someone who I used to do a cheeky fiver on accumulators at the weekend, while hidden away in secret I was blowing thousands and that accumulator was to try and recoup the losses. This guy I actually shared a big win with once treating him to some nice clothes. Little did he know I was very much in the red already and it was a temporary gain.
So hopefully that will take a bit of the secrecy away and I will always have a physical person to check up on me as I have to be honest when I'm in the gambling zone, stopping and coming on here is the furthest thing from my brain.
Sorry to let you all down, checking in on day 1. But as I said last week still over 300 days this year so will hit the treble century and be gamble free by Christmas.
Morning troops, I have safely got home from York and wake up today feeling surprisingly fresh. Its a relatives 80th birthday today so I need to pay him a visit before work. So the update will be a little later than usual. I need to go back through the last two days check ins and get all my figures up to date before writing the update. So I will start it when I finish work at 10 and it will be up around midnight.
Morning all. Checking in on day 332.
