Another great update. I now love Sundays. Reading that update keeps me strong for another week and makes me realise I've done another week without a bet and makes me feel that bit better about were I'm heading.

I can't believe I'm actually checking in as I have never been able to resist the Cheltenham urge but thanks to this site and in particular this challenge I have done it and now I have no excuses as for why I can't continue and complete the full year. One day or week at a time, I now truly believe I can get there.

Checking In- Day 277

Well done John64... I am 2 days behind you. We must have been going through the same emotions in June 2014. The barriers are still in place and I still read a lot of good advice on here when the itch returns. No gamble today.

Hello, seem to be apologising every I post because I keep forgetting to post!

Well done to all in the thread. Some great stories.

This friday will be 6 months gamble free for me. After what was a hugely destructuve 18 month- 2 years this feels like real progress, and although I have significan debts I feel like they are at least starting to be chipped away at properly.

Have had the strongest urges for a while recently but coped with them fairly well...onwards...

Great update Phil. ... checking in day 23 pay weekend over gamble free and some debts paid off feeling like I'm taking control back of my life rather than having other things control me.... found a second job which has uplifted my spirits as this is going to help repay my gambling debts and loosen the hardship on my home ... even lighten up the constant beating I give myself on me causing the mess in the first place ... feeling more in control of fighting to be better not escaping but embracing after being gamble free ten years then messing up hugely I know it's a life time problem and only by not gambling will I find peace ... happiness ...
I know understand that throughout my life I have felt that I had no control on events that happened or the sadness and problems they caused I couldn't control what happened and it's something I now need to accept deal with and move on from ... I can control my behaviour as in not making things worse for my children and not being the cause of hardship because of gambling.
seeing how inspirational people are on here and the whopping days people have tallied up gives me hope, motivation and I can only thank you all for everyone's constant support
tracey x

Lollypoplol

I'm just wanting to post to express condolences to you on recent deaths in your family, difficult events that will definitely have impact.

Mate wishing you a fair wind and strength to navigate through the rough seas at present.

Please keep a strong handle on the positive gamble free life and sharp focus on all the good reasons for abstinence, no matter what negative events life chucks at us a gamble will multiply the devastating situation into heart wrenching conclusion, never forget that buddy in these difficult times.

Hold tight to the gf course through the difficulties it's the one thing that will always make sense.

Best wishes!

Thank you Born Again, consider this my check in.

Although I have been pretty poor at checking in this year it's always good to come back to the thread. Well done on picking up the baton for 2015 and running the thread, it's clearly a lot of work so it's much appreciated.
