Thanks Jim, obviously I know people have been through worse and i'm lucky enough that i've lost this money now whilst I haven't got a house to lose etc. I just have to learn from this, still get urges and when I've got too much time on my hand it's just there and tempting but looking to keep gamble free. Sucks that i'm going to lose my car and go bankrupt but I know I can beat this and come back better from it and I hope you guys who are beating it are reaping the rewards. I'm done losing, time to turn it all in my favour. Day 2.
Checking in day 58
Quick checkin for me today!! GF and winning... 🙂
Checking in Day 80, still plodding along & avoiding that disastrous first bet. Off to Cornwall this morning for a week, never would have happened without these 80 days under my belt. Have a great GF weekend everyone.
Checking in day 48! The big 50 on Monday! No major urges this week. I always have a look in the gaming zones when I stop at the service stations but with my partner looking after my debit card, I'm like a gun with no ammo.. No damage can be done. I'm still not confident enough to look after my card myself though.. I think the temptation would be too great.
But still gamble free and trying to persuade the boys at work that gamble free is the way for them to go.. They're not buying it at the minute though!
Checking in at day 24! Can't believe it. Nearly a month. I had a stressful moment this week when I had to go out to the shops, which are very near a bookies and I took a deep breath and remembered that 'house always win!'
I resisted and the urge went down in 10 seconds! I am aiming for 30, then 50!! Thank you all for your stories and it's great to be part of this community!
Checking myself in on day 111. We are missing a worrying 25 soldiers, its been a very quiet week on here! Get checking in troops!
Morning soldiers, checking in day 116 without gambling.
Looking forward to a cracking afternoon of rugby. Have a good weekend all.

Checking in on day 32 gf.
I am experiencing urges but I am not going to allow myself to be fooled by my magical thinking or take myself down the side street of insanity where having the first bet takes me.
No first bet = winning in the long run.
I watched a very very cool advert the other day with flying unicorns and a running horse. It was an animated piece and it was excellent marketing but couldn't believe it was for the grand national! I've never bet on horses but that advert I think will suck plenty of people in, very exciting advert.
My conclusion was that any poor soul who gets drawn in and finds themselves on the road to a gambling problem won't realise just how apt their use of unicorns in the advert was. Where as any problem gambler who is arresting and abstaining knows that unicorns, like gambling, is a big illusion and a destructive fantasy to sign up to.
So much gambling marketing going on it seems now.
On a different note I am chipping away at debt and will be debt free in 6-8 months for the first time in my adult life!! Achieved by NOT gambling by keeping the triangle implemented.
I can't wait to be debt free - keeping my focus on that but realising that longer term goal can look after itself - the concentration of my focus is on today and each new day, one day at a time and in time the messes of my lifelong gambling problems will no longer exist.
Just for today!
Tackling personal debt slowly but surely and 100% committed to gf life.
Best wishes to all of you and your future successes which will arrive through maintaining and abstaining.
Stay focused one day at a time.

Good afternoon everyone!!
A usual Saturday afternoon in Costa coffee made unusual by the fact that it's sunny outside!! Unbelievable!!
Many many congratulations to Delboygolf seems to be have been a long year DBG......but you've navigated it safely and I'm proud to have walked the road with you!! Well done!!
Mr B checking in for the week.......a potentially life changing week ahead......one of the worst days of the year is on Monday with my wee brothers anniversary coming round........however, it could also be one for celebration with a job interview for a role only 10 minutes from home - savings all over the place, money for travel of course, but that thing that money can't buy.......time with my family. Say prayers for me troops!!
Have a blessed week everyone,
Mr B
Afternoon All.
Checking in at Day 44 gamble free! Feeling better with myself as each day I'm gamble free passes.
So happy I'm doing this challenge. It's tough but it's gonna be worth it. I wrote a bet out today and even went onto a betting site for odds on it. Part of me worries that I'm getting closer to a slip but then the other part says well done for not placing that bet. I know they'll be temptation and urges I just have to deal with them. I know the pain I'll cause myself if I have to give up on this challenge and have to tell my wife that I haven't kept my promise to her. That's my motivation and with you guys and gals and this site I may just make it out the other side.
Affected by gambling?
