Hi, my first day on here. Almost one day gamble free. Have gambled for 11 years now since I was 17. Can remember placing my first large bet (at the time! Of £30 and feeling devastated when it lost! For most, I suppose, is where the story would end. By the time I was 21 I had lost my first real amount. £800 for a car I was saving. Lost it on football chasing the deficit I had created. Ever since I have gone on constant binges, winning hundreds. Losing it and then losing hundreds more. That's where I would stop, budget as tight as possible and get as much overtime in as possible. Get back to financial well being and then binge again, over and over. I've lost £1000 on single bets several times. Savings of £4000 gone in a few weeks and most reverently won £1500 and within a few weeks lost that and £2500 more. Cashing out for £20 on a £1200 seemingly losing acca can really effect your mental well being!
Managed 9 months without gambling a few years ago and can manage weeks at a time but nothing long term, that's why I feel so trapped, like what's the point in stopping when I could relapse in a week, month or a years time?!
Good day everybody!
Today is my 10th day gamble free! I am happy as the days goes by. 🙂
Checking in for the week ahead
Hi all,
I would like to join this challenge again. I was on the forum about a year and a half ago and found it really supportive and helpful. I managed to get to about 200 days before my relapse. I've since lost thousands and I'm more in debt than ever. This is my first day gamble free and I intend to keep it going this time. Last time I posted on here I was over 100 days gamble free. I managed to keep it going on my own for a while after that but soon fell into my old ways. I wish I had kept posting and I may not have got into this situation again. Onwards and upwards though and I feel more positive for coming back on here already! Well done to all the familiar names who have managed to keep it going!

welome back Honk
I know how you feel... I quit for 122 days and recently feel back into it. I won £900 very quickly, soon became £2000 and then I lost it all trying to chase £100 of the winnings I lost and soon after that..... I lost 3.9k of my own money. I'm now on day 12 and to be honest the first 7 days was easy as I was so annoyed with gambling and hated it but by day 9 that annoying voice popped in saying that I can win it all back again. It was hard to ignore and I was inches away from going back online. luckily I forgot my password. This forum has helped me and I hope it can help you too buddy
all the best
Checking in on day 923 forgot to check in on Sunday.
Hi all,
I need to start the challenge again! I didn't even manage 1 day!!! I feel embarrassed and ashamed but need to be honest about it. I will keep myself busy tomorrow and then over the weekend cut off all options. It's too easy with no barriers in place. I know once I get past a week it will get easier and I won't want to undo my good work.

At 923 I think you are in a good position to have a few days grace 🙂
Truly inspirational!
On 932 days, i'm very cautious about missing my safety nets. They are there for a reason. My suggestion to this challenge is get your check in early in the week that way you know your done. As a gambler i generally used to leave things to the last minute.
just a bit of food for thought. tri
