So it had been 3 months since my previous bet and I had been so much better about myself to finally be clear of gambling (so I thought). But a sudden relapse has ruined it all, I lost £250 , which I am upset about. But I found myself being more annoyed that I gave into a temptation after seeing an ad. I was feeling feeling so much better and this has now brought me back down. However I am determined for this not to lead back to a vicious gambling cycle, and although I feel like my hard work is ruined I want to get back on the right track. Advice on how people adapt to relapse's and get over them to get back on the right track would be greatly appreciated , Thanks!

Hello Bubbleboy,

I have dealt with a relapse myself i was a year gamble free and decided after this year I could control my gambling i was very wrong. I knew i can kick gambling out of my life because i managed to do it for a year. I'm now nearly 2 years gambling free and I'm certain I won't be gambling again.

What have i done different this time round?

I put in place accountability partners so when i'm feeling urges to gamble i can call these people for simple thing even to remind me of the state i was in when i hit my rock bottom. I took away control of my finances and I completed the 12 week 1-2-1 counselling. All things i didn't do the first time around.

Unfortunately you won't get away from gambling ads they're everywhere but try think of things you can do when you see these adverts if they trigger urges. I was gambling so often it had become a habit so it's important you try break the habit loop if you put in google habit loop explained you can get a better understanding of this.
