Wow, I can't believe I've done this. I had the worst form of this addiction, I have literally been to hell. The battle has just began I understand as I'm always one slip up away from landing back there.
I remind myself of all those things everytime I think about gambling. Which still happens, but I've educated myself about urges and triggers. Feel better prepared to succeed, and most importantly hopeful. I had lost all hope, couldn't go a day without.
James P doesn't post here anymore, such a shame but I remember him telling me that first of all I need to get back was the hope, only than you can begin to fight this, if you still read this James, thank you.
I think that advice applies to us all, we gotta find the hope in us first, to equip us to fight.
If I can do one month, I can do a year. I have no more excuses, you fight this with everything, or you simply won't succeed.
Thanks for sharing the news of your success.
At least in my experience, the longer you're out of it, the easier the battle gets. (But you must keep the guard up permanently). Please continue to post your progress.
