I know it's very early days for me but today was a good day. I managed to go into town have a coffee in a local shop do a little shopping and then come home. Usually I would go into the bank take as much money out as I could, and then go straight to the bookies and put it all in the slots come home and feel really fed up and depressed. Today when I got home I went out for a long walk and now I feel positive. Going to take this one day at a time.

Good news Moomoo41 but please tell us more as the real test is self excluding from all the bookies and gambling places you have visited.

Self exclusion, close family support (if available) counselling and even a little chat with the doctor are key to this.

The time money location triangle must be broken so when the day comes and you are stressed or depressed, your routes to gamble are blocked while your mind gets happy and straight again.

The barriers must be there then I found the desire to gamble just dies away. My blocks are firmly in place and I have no desire to break them. I am never complacent though and am finding happiness in avoiding rubbish pubs or anywhere with a hint of a machine

You will feel positive and that nice walk was good. There are many success stories on the forum which inspire me to meet all my challenges.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
