Firstly, this is all my fault and I'm not trying to get out of it.
I've had a gambling problem for years, on and off. I had it under control for a while but it reared it's ugly head again. I suffer with mental health problems (borderline personality disorder and anxiety disorder), which explains a little bit of it but I still take responsibility.
Anyway, a couple of months ago I opened an account in my partner's name and details, using her debit card. She is very understanding and is helping me with all of this. I self excluded and closed the account (along with every site I could find).
A week ago I tried to open another account with the same company (betway) with the exact same details (my partner's name, date of birth, address, same IP address etc). I was shocked when they let me open the account and I went a bit mad. I've spent over 600, which we really don't have. I've been under massive amounts of stress lately and it was almost like a coping mechanism.
I feel absolutely terrible. I've taken an overdose but I'm ok now.
I thought the betting company had a responsibility to stop exlcuded players from opening an account again? They said they did a check on the deposit method (which was different this time but still my partner's money) but that is all they do.
Is there anything she can do to get this money back? We can't pay rent or bills and I feel absolutely terrible. I've got help in place now so that's a start.
I don't care if I get in trouble (even with the police) but I'd like her to get her money back if possible.
Any ideas?
Thanks for reading.
