Hi all, I read on here about StepChange and have just entered all my info and they’ve recommended a “debt payment programme” at £26.66pm for 10 years and 1 month. I’m waiting to hear back from them before I go ahead with anything. I also admitted my gambling addiction which is something i’d never have done a week ago.
currently this debt (2 credit cards that have been defaulted and 1 stupid maxxed out online store card) constantly weighs on me, however I often don’t prioritise them as they aren’t “urgent”, i pay £10-20 now and then. Bad mindset, i know.
Does anyone have any experience with StepChange, or advice about going ahead with this plan? I’ve never heard of it before joining this forum.
I read something on here someone said about letting your debt be paid slowly in the background and live your life. I love that, but it’s hard as i’m impatient. But it’s not like i’m getting very far by doing nothing as it is!
I should mention that I am trying to rebuild my credit score, will this affect it much?
