As of an old work saying.....

' Its not the hours you put in, its what you put into the hours '

This concept can be used in recovery..

It bugs me when i hear about the big bad gambling industry taking our hard earned money. I wonder why?

Is it the mirror again?

Its hard to let go of the demons inside, they were the only one holding you when no one else would

It's not fear that holds people back-it is their attitude towards it that keeps them stuck

How can anyone hope to move forwards when they are still swimming in their past mistakes and choices.

Life is about making wrong choices on the way (we would not be human otherwise)

Accepting the mistakes we have made and then be able to move forwards is a great gift to achieve. but because we are complex human beings, we can achieve that great gift.

living in the past, she won't move on and as far as I am concerned, life is for living in the now, life is too short to keep grudges from the past and let them affect our choices now.

The mirror is probably one of the best tools in understanding your psyche....

You can cut out cancer but you cant cut out addiction. The scars of addiction are buried deep inside.

A few years ago, before i entered this forum or ' recovery '. I witnessed with a friend, someone banging the FOBT and shouting '' Its for my kids ''. At the time after we left the bookies, it made for amusing banter between me and my friend. Addicts are not bad people, the sly addiction tries to hoodwink us to believe we are.

Addicts get caught up in the dark blue sea, recovery gives us the tools to get back to dry land.

The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge

There are people who are generic. They make generic responses and they expect generic answers. They live inside a box and they think people who don't fit into their box are weird. But I'll tell you what, generic people are the weird people. They are like genetically-manipulated plants growing inside a laboratory, like indistinguishable faces, like droids. Like ignorance.
