Allana, just to let you know I'll add you to our challenge ready for the next rollcall on Saturday. I'm away so unable to update our collective stats till then. Just wanted to let you know you've not been forgotten 🙂
A busy day at work and bashing head against wall, but at least 36 Days Gamble Free today!

By coming to Gamecare we are deciding to make changes for the better.
Today lets keep the change happening by remaining gamble free.

Checking in....GF ....68 days almost ruined 🙁
Had the worst urges I've had since stopping....Been so down last couple days 🙁
Almost headed downwards again, found myself online googling my favourite slot to find any sites I'm not excluded from....Just at the right time a friend text me...A new friend from here....That text saved me....Saved my life.
Onwards & forwards I go....

Gf day
Sbb, thank you for a (typically) motivational post, reminding us what this is all fundamentally about.
Mari (SC) well done for pulling back from the precipice - the strength you are showing is testament to how determined you are. You mentioned how a post from one of our group helped pull you back from the brink ; and that's typical of how generous we all are with our support. And don't forget, you helped yourself by building up a support network... if we put the building blocks in place, they help us when we need them!
Athena, we all wish you well with your first counselling session tomorrow 🙂
JayD, thank you for checking in. Another day, and always that little bit stronger.
Marksman, likewise in my job I'm always banging my head against a big wall - but we persevere, don't we 🙂 you've chalked up 36 days, keep going!
Hurray....Day 10...back in double figures :-). I went out last night to a pub quiz and meal with a ladies group I've joined; I've had the details for 14 months, but decided at New Year that I was going to join in this year. Better than feeding money into a slot machine and feeling alone...no not only better...I enjoyed the company, I laughed, it is a start. Friendships need time, work, commitment. Driving home from the casino I would feel deflated, guilty, worthless. Last night driving home I felt content, happy. We can and we will, but we cannot do this alone x
Thought for the day:
The reason why people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go, instead of how far they have come.
It is of course early days for all of us, but with each day of abstinence we move further away from what we were and closer to what we aspire to be.
