What's the point of gambling, anyway?

If I win, I just lose it all back. It's pointless, really.

Yes it is pointless.

Gambling is like a reaction to life which then becomes an unhealthy and destructive habit.

Totally relate to this statement. It could take an hour, 24 hours or if really unlucky it could take even longer.

Think it's almost impossible to stop whilst "up/winning" considering how hard it is to stop even when suffering massive losses.

Well yes but you have to look at the income stream of the pushers and I include the government and their token puppets the gambling commission.

If gambling was not taxed/ could not be taxed it would be illegal tomorrow. That is a fact that should wake people up!

It's a giant scam sold as entertainment but it's mainly a tax on hope.... the poor...however you want to term it.

It's scandalous because the pushers know how highly addictive gambling is to many many people.

So tragically in modern society the point to it is a large and steady income stream for those who control it and instigate it

The punter is less than a pawn in the game and the model is based on addiction

That should upset you enough never to want to gamble again but the huge problem is it's like a drug addiction of learned behaviour

Again the people who design slot machines for example know this so you can see how sinister the whole operation is

A healthy mind can see this clearly

I'm beyond miffed but must stay as calm as possible for my own recovery. How we fight the gambling dens  for regulation and abolishment is something every recovering gambler and relative must think about

Best wishes to everyone on the forum
