It's another day, it's another "NO" (to GAMBLING) = 28 DAYS

I like writing in my diary at the very start of a new day. I have a perpetual calender in my living room and as soon as it gets to midnight, I find myself changing the date and as I do so, I say out loud "it's another day, its another "NO".

I find that telling myself just as a new day is about to begin that I will not be gambling, it kind of then puts my mind at rest and then I don't even think about it for the remainder of the day. I prefer to do this rather than wait for the day to end and then say I haven't gambled. I think the motto is - whatever works best for you and I like it this way.

So then, DAY 28 and still on The Bright Side of the Road!!

Take it easy Gamcare friends.

Feb.

Hello Feb,

I'am a compulsive gambler also, my g.o.c. was slots. Way to go on being gamble free! I'am on day 40, it's been a tough road but sticking to it. This site helps me alot, any time I get urges, I start posting on here, gives me strength. I'am also in therapy, doing 1 on 1, and group every week. It's been a real help and I'am learning alot about my addiction to gambling and how to overcome it. Just wanted to drop a note and say well done.

Sincerely,

Chicagoguy

This road i'm sticking to is getting brighter and brighter - where's my sunglasses?!!!

Well, well, well.........

One month ago today, I experienced the worst ever feelings and emotions after just blowing almost all of my hard earned salary!! - panic, shame, guilt, stress, remorse, terror and anxiousness.[

What a difference a month makes!! Almost all of those feelings disappeared within a couple of days of me deciding to quit gambling for once and for all!! I am still enjoying the luxury of just being able to breath lighter and feeling a whole lot more relaxed. Hoping more little luxuries will come back in my life with each gamble free payday.

Looking forward to my treat to myself on Wednesday when I am paid - even if it was a 50th Birthday pressie, I am still going to thoroughly make the most of my Elemis facial!!

Day 31 and all is good on the "Bright Side of the Road"

Nite John Boy, nite Jim Bob, nite Erin, nite Gamcare family!!

Hi Feb

Yeah you're right we stopped on the same day. Be great to touch base now and again seeing as we're at the same stage. Noticed too that your pay day is around the same time so that's another milestone we'll cross together. Crossing the pay day -to- pay day line is definitely a biggy.

You sound like you're doing really well. Nice one.

Feb,

Congrats on one month of succeeding. Sounds like you're in a positive place which is great to see. Keep up the good work, and don't let complacency creep in!

Supporting you all the way
