It's now been 3 weeks since I last gambled. I was a little tempted last night around midnight but had a quick read of some of the stories on here, it was enough to take the temptation away.

Here's to the next 7 days gamble free. Stay strong everybody

Hi Miller,

Well done on those first few weeks gamble free. Temptation is a really sneaky little thing, and it can spring up on you at any time. It's caught me out plenty of times in the past.

Keep your defences up. Have you looked into self-excluding from your usual bookies/casinos, this may help put a block in place that can help your willpower get back under control before you find a new place to gamble.

All the best mate,

Ryan

Cheers for the tips Ryan. I'm self excluded from loads of casinos and I'm getting loads of support from friends and family.

I've never stopped gambling fully before. I've stopped slots but always kept betting or dong the lottery. Convincing my self it was ok to do a bit.

This is the first time I've gone cold turkey with everything, so far the urges haven't been too bad as yet. I actually feel different in myself barring myself from all forms of gambling.

Still pretty hopeful my gambling days are behind me but after being a problem gambler for over 20 years, I will take one day at a time
