Hey Dazz1982 and welcome to the challenge! Good to have you here, your name will be added to the list and well done on your achievement so far 🙂
And our GT..must be so excited yesterday that forgot to check in huh lol..good to have you here and filling the only void we had ☺

So challenge hit a good start and good to see all of you checked in. First week kicked off and for the ones (like myself) which are starting from the start this will be very good focus and challenge to get to 90 days safely. They say it takes 90 days to break the cycle and get used to new "routine" so please please the ones who is struggling, stick around, keep believing and making this possible. Life without self destruction is a lot calmer and better one, we all can do it, we all are worth it and we are all on the right track moving forward..not easy but possible ☺

Well done all, am very proud of you and your achievements and i do hope that this challenge will help every single one of you.

See you all next Friday after completing week one (that's then little '*' will appear lol)...and we all like to see something for our hard work 😉

Way to go all - one day at a time!

Sandra x

Please can I join your 90 day challenge (even though I am a day late), I feel desperate for help having lost £205 on online gambling today and a further £85 this week which I just cannot afford! I am in debt as it is (mainly through gambling) My stomach is churning and I am thinking forward to payday on Tuesday and using that to recoup my losses which realistically won't happen, I don't want to be in this vicious circle anymore! I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for over 3 and a half years and suffer from depression, but I just can't kick the gambling, I am desperately hoping that this challenge will help and already feel less low and a bit more positive by coming on here, thanking everyone in anticipation for their support

Hi Liaison,

Firstly, just breathe....this gambling businesses is one big self destruction and if you are already in recovery (from alcoholism) you know how hard is to kick the habit. All we need to do is just to take it one day at a time..yesterday is history - today is a gift and tomorrow is mystery..so just concentrate on today...it matters the most .
You are signed up for the challenge indeed and no way you are on your own. If you just signed up to the site, create your own diary and vent everything out..there is no judgement and we do understand how you're feeling. Get physical blocks in place also, they really matter in this quest..what about looking for something to occupy you on boring days? Maybe take a new hoby on? Worth a try! ..GC offers free counseling also, maybe worth to give them a call too 🙂
There is a light at the end of the tunnel and i am very happy to have you here and now..together we stand!
Please keep posting and never forget to be kind to yourself !

Nice and easy..one day at a time..it matters the most! Welcome to RECOVERY it will gift you LIFE!

Thank you Sandra for responding so quickly and for your kind words. I did have counselling about 3 years ago when my partner knew I was gambling (he thinks I stopped gambling when the counselling sessions finished and haven't gambled since!) but it didn't work, don't know whether it was because I was still in the early stages of my sobriety I don't know. The stupid thing is I work full time and work long hours so when I have got free time I have always got plenty of things to do but gambling always seems to take over and before I know it I have wasted a whole day or evening (when my partner isn't around!). I do sometimes self exclude myself from the gambling sites I belong to and always feel so much better but at the same time am counting down the days to I can gamble again!!! An online diary is a great idea and I also think writing on here will be a great help, once again thank you

No worries at all 🙂 glad to be here in the need of help.
I had two sets of counselling towards my gambling issue..it worked out i should of address my other issues cause gambling was just a way to escape from my feelings.
Blocks definitely helps..there is a blocker called K9 which is free, just get ur other half to install it for you and set password on..you have to be honest also, this will make your recovery a lot easier..no word of a lie, all 100% of CG who confessed to loved ones felt the weight bein lifted..it's hard, but has to be done and only then you can start letting it all go. Don't punish yourself, we all do mistakes in life, it's never too late to make things right..just believe in yourself and want your recovery plus your life more than a bet..it can be done, you're worth it!

Nice and easy..foot in front of another..keep us posted, you are on the right path

Good morning Sandra, thanks again for your lovely message, it's so encouraging seeing my name on the list for the challenge, I know it's going to be difficult but am feeling strong, am not even going to do my daily free spins on one site as that defeats the object. The problem with putting a block on the computer is that it's a friends computer! I belong to two gambling sites which I joined years ago so my option is to close them then all temptation is out of the way as it would be difficult for me to open new accounts as I think nowadays they need identification should you be so lucky to have a win and for them to pay you (I don't have a scanner etc) although I am sure there is a way around it! I have thought about telling my partner am building up to that! Day 1 of being gamble free! Still feeling churned up about my losses yesterday, the stupid thing was at one point I had won enough to cover the losses I had made during the week but oh no I lost that and then more! But as you say yesterday is history, thanks Sandra x

Hi wants2stop..in other words little angel and her wonderful mummy 😉
You are added on the list Hun and it's great to have you on the challenge!
Liaison, i hope you self excluded from all those sites and there are millions of them out there..you need to keep your guard up all the time and to want recovery more than next spin. Free spins you mention are just game with fire..it feeds your addiction..good decision on stopping those also. Maybe worth changing your bank card to basic one for a while. That means you will not be able to deposit online..of course you won't b able to use other websides for purchases but sometimes we need to sacrifice things for the right reasons.
Just keep taking it steady, today matters the most, you're making changes and looking ahead...good to have you on a challenge, together we stand!

Day at a time

Sandra x
