😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎 Now not drinking alcohol has been a big part of keeping my mind clear for correct decisions.....or so i thought.....8 weeks ago i bought 4 jd and cokes cans.......now i do suffer with headaches next day......but do find the odd drink relaxing......and why not treat myself.....
in these past eight weeks ive bought 8 cans and had one jd in pub.....so basically one can a week.....so i dont think drinking an issue for me......but i do have an addictive personality so i allways have to be carefyul when starting new things or getting carried away with things.....
just paused to check my day count....... its 2332 nice and symetrical....... aiming for 2345.....
and to hit my 7 year gamble free in december be great.......but cant get carried away.....
best not to look forward to much stay in present
2026 GOALS
1) Gamble free thru out
2) No money spent on gaming - soo far soo good......
3) Save 7200 each calender year thru work......
4) 70k steps average each week.......
simple, tough targets, but achievable
lets go
This is amazing Adam and mini goals to get to bigger ones. I think in addiction we set ourselves huge goals and then look for a shortcut which doesn't exist. Breaking down those goals to manageable stress free mini goals can really help
I also love that you keep checking on developing another addiction. I do the same mate. Someone the other day in good recovery realised he had bought 100 Amazon items over 3 months and recognised the problem
Hey Adam,
Looks like some great goals there! I was reading through your recovery diary this morning. You work so incredibly hard, it was very inspiring. You do so well with your spending habits.
Have a lovely day.
Kylie.
Hi stuart and kylie thanks for popping by and ur interest and ur motivational words thank you......
Today once again im feeling lazy for only working a five hour shift so i stayed a bit later....... tomo im going to go to work and graft as much as i can....... we have a mini dept meeting when i get in but as soon as that finnishes ill try my best to get as much done as i can.......
This evening i completed a couple of races on gran turismo ....... ate sausages and eggs...... and sat in sun a bit.......
Recovery going ok but feel a bit meh....... one more day of work them can chill for a couple of days....
Can't all be roses and smiles mate but you know that. Tomorrow is another day. Write your gratitude list first thing and then crack on mate
Here i am....... im at end of the week.... start of the weekend....... been a busy day..... went work...... had a team meeting all good.... then went back sat in sun..... went to sainsburys and picked up some bbq food...... going to have bbq tomo....... looking forward to it...... also bought some cans of jd but managed to not have one tonight as ill save myself for tomo....... Then i also cleaned the flat in prep for my guests...... flats looking tip top......
Soo far this month ive spent 51 in waitrose....... and 93 in sainsburys.......and 5.60 in work canteen so 149.60 pounds on food this month....... The great thing is ive not spent anything on anyrhing else...... no retail therapy this month....... ive still got my lego transformer to build too....
Ive also done 81k steps in 6 days...... which is great... il have tomo as rest day......
Another good just for today mate. Relax over the weekend and take time for yourself mate
ive been impulsive again and bought some more lego sets........ got two star wars droids bb8 and c3po...... i have two other droids already and thought it would complete the set....... They were 25% off today at argos......... so i thought why not........ thing is altogether its 150 pounds eek...... Just looked and my r2d2 lego set that i bought 10 - 15 years ago is now on sale for 275pounds....... madness..... so ive now spent 245 on 4 sets recently........ Its a lot of money but i can afford it and they will look nice on my dvd shelves
No more buying stuff
Must do better......
I forgot to post last night....... last post was friday night.....
Friday i done a lot of housework chors to get my flat ready for some guests for a bbq......
Saturday i woke went to waitrose bought some milk and matches for bbq...... and got a coffee of course......
Then came home and a friend came over to pick up my ps5 that im selling him..... hes taken it back and will pay me 50 a month for 5 months for it....... i bought it for 350...... its selling in argos for 520 but if i sold to cex id only get 180 so im thinking 250 a fair price and means it goes to a good home too......
Lego wise my birthday is in may so im going to get the 90 pounds from my folks to get the c3po for my birthday and ill get 20 pounds off my sister towards the bb8 ..... so ill only have spent 135... much better.....
looks like ive spent 160 on food this month...... so 5 pounds a day ....... ive been pretty lazy cooking wise and have bought several microwave meals and treats and eaten take away food several times...... ive managed to get good deals on everything but feel that as usual ill tighten my belt over may....
i started to keep my money in my accounts last june instead of transfering to my dad..... this has been a big responsibility and i do however like to transfer away for safekeeping...... but as a result ill get 175 interest on it this year..... Soo far with one month left of the first year independent saving i have 2000 in tesco isa...... 3600 in first direct account....... 175 interest....... plus 1400 from income vs outgoings for april may = a total saving towards debt for the year of 7175......which is exactly 50% of what earned...... id say thats perfect.....
Have you tried the 1p challenge ? Some banks online like Monzo do it. Day one they transfer 1p and it goes up by a penny each day so the last day is 3.65
it actually adds up to a tiday sum of 667 pounds over the year......
What a great idea......
I just transferred 20 pounds into my monzo account so i can start this.....
Unfortunately for them to do it automatically each day into a seperate pot would cost 3 pounds a month for the "extra" account..... monthly premium.
But i am going to do it ive set up a "next console" seperate pot and will transfer each day....... then at the end of the year ill have 668 pounds plus interest......
U have to pay 3 pounds a month to monzo if u want to do their 1p challenge......
So i just transfered 20 pounds to monzo, created a pot which i get interest on, and transferred into it £4.96 (which is the first months amount of 1p2p3p4p5p6p etc ....... next month ill add the next months amount
Another start to the week for me....... another successful day....... felt pretty chipper today....... was lovely and sunny and sat in sun after work for an hour.......In preperation for my cash isas and seperate savings account ive opened a new account tonight which i will transfer everything into....... as i have 7k and will save potentially 7k this year i dont go over the cash isa max of 20k for the year and never will........ i transferred 2k in tonight and get 4.2 percent interest on it for the year which will be a tidy 84 ppounds..... then when my other account with 3600 in matures ill get 136 interest and transfer it to this new account..... hopefully by june ill have 7k in this account and will add as much as i can each month...... then next year will look for the most interest i can get again think this year interest will be 260 i think i worked out so that great for doing nothing.....
I should get a pay increase next month of four percent will altho is less than inflation so is a backward step i will get an eextra 40 pounds a month after tax....... so should get 1240 now a month.....
Done 10k steps sunday and today so pretty good start......
No hangover at all today......lots of food sunday so tried my best to eat less today but failed miserably lol....
will keep the alcohol till later in the week....only had 3 cans weekend gone......
Some friends should be over saturday and its a long weekend horray.....
Really please i can control my money and not get tempted to gamble... i know ill never gamble again.
Affected by gambling?
