Hello from me, trying to make sense of this horrible addiction.

I'm a first-time poster so I apologise if this isn't in line with other intros.

I'm 29 and I started gambling in 2020. I'd got extremely lucky on a stock trade at the end of the year and ended up with more money than my 23 year old head knew how to handle. Over the course of the last few years, I've lost all of those profits and have since been gambling my income and savings to near-zero. I frequently miss priority bills and have a habit of taking out my salary early (day-by-day) and gambling that (away). I've been in positions where I've won enough to stop entirely but have not had the willpower to walk away. My mood is generally very low and because of my autism I struggle to manage my money and assess risk, both are contributing factors towards my gambling habits. Any blockers I've installed, I've found ways around, especially on my phone.

I'm not asking for pity or what not, but any encouragement that I can still make all of this work would be great because most conversations I've had around gambling (with previous support) have been fairly miserable.

Hi Luke

Welcome to this amazing space. Autism as you know is heavily connected to gambling. I would speak to the advisors on here. Get Gamban on all your devices which will stop all access including trading.

Pop on the 8pm chatrooms on here which are text only and run every night.
