After being off gambling for a few years the world cup has sucked me in again. In january i set up an account with ******* but a few days later i self excluded long term from it.Last week i got a friends login details and set up my card on his account using my details on his ******* account. After a few losses i am now in a dark place again. My question is,would ******* not have a system that seen my name and card details as self excluded and flag up when i set up card to bet on.This really is a terrible addiction.
Hi ruairi76 - Sorry to read you are feeling so low, but perhaps this last episode has given you the push you needed to really give up.
Now you need a 'belt and braces' strategy - as well as self-excluding you need to install a blocking software such as K9 (free), Gamblok or any of the others suggested by Gamcare. This barrier really helps to keep you away from temptation.
re. the question about the gambling site recognising your name etc., you would think so yes, but unsurprisingly they seem to have a memory lapse/delayed response when it comes to taking your money.
Try to visit this site regularly and engage with the people here - you will find a lot of support and encouragement in your journey to sanity, free from gambling.
Best wishes,
Joanna
