Day 22 job interview went well might be starting new job at start of May!My mind has been kept busy so no real thought of gambling heading towards a month gamble free, feels good.Still taking it just a day at a time but doing ok.
Hi chartom3,
Day 22 ... Well done you.
I thought I would just pop by your diary to say "Good Luck" with the job news. Fingers crossed that you will be starting in May.
By that time you will also be over 50 days gamble free so stay strong and things will only get better.
You're doing great.
Hi Sally, thanks for taking the time to post on my diary, its comments like yours that have helped me get to 22 days. I wish you well on your own recovery and hope you are keeping well and staying strong.
Thanks for your kind words NT, it really does help and yes you are right the main thing is 22 days gamble free....
Just read your diary mate and congratulations in reaching 22 days. I try and post on my diary every day even if it is just my number of days so it is a constant reminder. I see it has been a struggle but it will get easier as the days go by as you are retraining your brain to think like a non gambler again. The hardest part is the weekend but you have now got through 3 of them so you know you can do it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Greggsboy, thanks for the support it means alot when people like yourself comment, as you say it has been a struggle and the weekends are especially hard but i am determind to do this...... I see from your picture profile that you are a fellow Rangers fan and even they are doing a bit better now! I wish you well on your own recovery and look forward to updates on your progress.
Day 25...... got a offer this morning via text from a gambling company and for a moment i had a big urge to place a bet with them, but glad to say i didnt was very tempted but held strong. I have found the last week or so pretty easy so this was a reminder to keep my guard up at all times.
Well done
Stay strong
Cheers for the post mate. i take it u have been over and sampled our famous square sausage then. Doesnt matter where i go on holiday its the one thing i miss the most along with the irn bru. Yes the Gers seem to be doing slightly better but still a lot of hard work ahead of us so we can get back to where we belong. Well done on the quarter of a century. Feels like only yesterday that i hit that figure and now im nearly at the century and not looking back only forward. Enjoy ur weekend.
Day 27.... been ill last few days so definatly no thoughts of gambling nothing much more to report really been having a quiet easter, heres to another 27 days of winning.
Thank you ever so much for the post and you will be in my position sooner than you realise as the days really start going in quickly when we do not waste them gambling. Hope you are feeling better and i will say a silent thank you to all my friends on here when i have my first corona tonight.
Day 30..... Masters golf and the Grand National this weekend, would always have had a bet on both of these but not this year, will try and keep busy to keep my mind of gambling not going to be easy but i will do it, cant undo all my good work.
Thats it keep yourself busy and before you know it will be Monday and you will not need to worry. I am quite lucky (if you call it that) that when i was gambling i would bet on anything so these big events dont have as much significance to me. I was happy losing my money in a seller at fakenham or on a 3 ball in outer Mongolia. Also most of great sporting moments i have seen did not involve gamblingbsoenjoy the occasions for they are exciting enough without having to wager money on them.
Affected by gambling?
