Superb progress mate...abstaining and recovering from what I can see,

Funny you should mention the National...I live about a mile from the racecourse and my first GA meeting was on the evening of the Thursday races of the National meeting. Our meeting is held about a mile from the track in another direction so I was walking into the meeting a broken man as thousands of people milled outside.

A strange experience...I was still in a blur for that first National but had more rational thoughts for the second one GF last year. Managed to see it for what it was, a massive lottery.

I woke up this morning under my old roof, nothing exciting just that the ex has got a new job working nights so I will have to stay over a few nights a week. I’m in my sons bed while he can do starfish’s in my old super king size bed, one of the 2 things I bought with my winnings over the years (how I miss that bed). It felt very strange waking up to go to work this morning, I felt like a burglar sneaking about in my old house. Its good news the ex has a new job and hopefully this will be good for her and it means I get to spend a bit more time with my son.

Off to GA tonight and I will be chairing my first meeting, hopefully a good turn out and the full Premier league fixture list doesn’t mean we get to many no shows as sometimes happens.

I’m glad I committed to doing it tonight as this is the first night I have thought I could do without it tonight, I’ve not missed meeting since I started going back in September and aim to keep it that way. I know I would have attended tonight anyway but I might have just gone through the motions listened and nod in all the right place. I’m really looking forward to chairing tonight.

It’s not that I don’t want to go I have just had a tough few days in work and could be spending the time with my son again tonight but I know he will happily give up a few hours with me every week if it means I’m not gambling, he on a winner because he gets a real Dad rather than the half dad I was when I was gambling.

Really enjoyed Ga tonight, chaired the meeting for the first time as was said to me last week it is amazing how much more you take in. A couple of new guys tonight who just reminded me of when I was like when I turned up 4 months ago the both gave an honest and heartfelt introduction and got some great feedback and advice. The rest of the guys and girls all reported a gamble free week. For those GA guys interested Oldham GA will be remaining where we are.

Im round looking after my lad again tonight while the ex is working nights, hope I have a better nights sleep tonight I felt very strange last night and this morning it felt like I was in a BB and not like I was in my own home, which I suppose it's not anymore maybe I'm starting to extinguish that lingering flame. I think I'm starting to come to realisation that my gambling has taken a lot from away from me than the cold hard cash. In time I can replace that cash but the rest, (for want of a better term) is looking like a long shot.

Need to stop now. Not sure where that came from but I will say I'll keep a lighter handy to relight that candle if the opportunity presents itself.

Great to hear Martin. GA is fortunate to have a group like Oldham but the door goes both ways. Get all you can out of the fellowship. Unity.

Brillliant stuff Martin; glad you enjoyed chairing...think there's a Regional meeting this weekend and we'll be making a decision in a couple of weeks as a group.

Cheers Gary and Suzanne I really enjoyed it and got a few text off the other guys that they enjoyed it to.

I've actually just started writing my therapy for my one year pinning its only 8 months away lol. I'm doing it a little different and do it like a diary and take bits of posts I have put on here along with a few other thoughts. I'm not getting complacent or cocky I know it's a long way off but I'm committed to beating this.

Day 135

Off round to my sons home my former residence to look after him whilst the ex is at work. I say look after him I'd imagine he will be on his Xbox tonight. I won't be sleeping there tonight which im glad about not been sleeping well there the last few nights I feel like an intruder. I'm not being made to feel that way but I do.

Plan to go and see my mates new baby tomorrow even been out and bought her a few clothes, I've probally got the wrong thing but I gave it a go lol.

Have a good weekend all catch you on the morrow
