Hi everybody

I haven't been on here for months! I have been gamble free for 5 months now? I want to say to all who are continuing to fight to overcome this vile addiction.. Good luck and well done to all who are brave enough to share their story on here ?

I am proud of myself for getting to kick gamblings b**t!

Sadly my heart remains broken because I fear that I have lost a treasured friendship.. This hurts more than the £££££ i have lost over 7 years and all the possessions i sold!

I would give anything to get this friendship back to the way it was ?.. So anyone happy to send any positive vibes to help mend this, would be much appreciated ☺️

Wishing everybody, peace, serenity and continuing strength on their journey ?

Hi @joannieb

Well done for being gamble free for 5 months. That's a huge achievement and you should be very proud.

I'm of course sending lots of positivity your way. With regards to the lost friendship, give it time. Five months is a long time to be gamble free, but not necessarily a long time to rebuild trust and earn forgiveness.

In my experience, it was my best friebds wife's friendship that I lost entirely. It made it hard to see my friend or their children, who I treated liked nieces and nephews. It took about 6 months for her to finally reach out. I waited for her to reach out because I didn't want to make things worse by contacting her too soon. Things are so much better now and we can socialise like normal. So keep the faith that things can still improve.

All you can do is keep doing the right things. Stay gamble free, be honest and open and get help when/if you need it.

Thank you so much Mr Lyndhurst ☺️ really appreciate your kind and encouraging words.. My friend has been my best friend for over 30 years and has been the most loyal and generous friend I could hope for!

But she hasnt called me fpr 18months! We have spoken twicw a week forever. She lives in New York so I can't even knock on her door and try and get things back like before.. We do whatsapp but its not the same.. Its so hard and I'm to scared to even suggest I visit as I can't cope with anymore rejection.

Thank you Dave 101 ? I remember you were very supportive when I came on the forum... That was when I first signed up to Gamstop..

So thank you. How are you doing?

Positive vibes!

Whatever will be, will be as they say.

Remain focused on your amazing efforts of going 5 months gamble free to date. If your broken friendship is meant to heal and begin again, then it simply will.

Keep the faith, but don’t lose sight of your goals ??
