7 Days I won't be gambling this hour.

Yesssssssss i did it!!!!! I made my first week. I woke up this morning and guess what? No Shame, No guilt, no embarrassment no heart palpitations from a huge Saturday loss. I feel fantastic but this morning i do have a small desire to gamble. You guys must understand this, one week is a very, very, very long time to refrain from betting, so for me i'm elated this morning :o-)...

@ ScottyBoy @ Rainman @ BBSKY @ MO, all of the others..

You have become a very serious part of my abstinence i read your posts in my diary and you made me feel 100X better. So thank you so much, i can honestly say i need you all, as well i hope? you need me to kick this habit from my existence..

One week without gambling and here's the bad news i want to gamble today urge is fairly strong because i met my Goal. I won't do it though! and as the urge is really strong because tomorrow is pay day too. So here is another memory from me to remind why i won't gamble tomorrow on pay day.

"Ladies and gentlemen please put your chairs upright fold away your tray tables, fasten your seat belts as we are on our final descent and will be arriving at Las Vegas airport in 20 mins"

I can't contain my excitement 15 hrs flying and im almost there "VEGAS" woohoo ive got so much money in my pocket and lots of credit cards i can use too if things don't go my way..

"Good morning" says the checking desk at the WYNN HOTELl Las Vegas Strip. " Morning" i reply i'm just looking over at the casino floor i can hear people cheering i can here Bonus rounds being activated on the slots and bells and dings and all those lovely sounds. I cannot wait to get my room key put my luggage away inside my room and get down to the casino floor.. " Enjoy your stay" says the desk lady.. " i will thank you, oh and have a nice day" i say, so excited. I get to my room it's huge beautiful view of the Vegas strip i'm in heaven. Ten days of pure gambling with slots, Roulette, Poker, craps, Blackjack and best of all no one to have to come home too, i'm here alone..

I have the quickest shower in history not even sure i put enough soap or shampoo on because im not thinking straight i just cannot get to the Casino floor fast enough. I'm hungry and thirsty but i will eat and drink later, money, money gamble-gamble - gamble Bonus bonus bonus is rushing through my head.

Finally im on the casino floor o*g it's so big there is literally one million slot machines a thousand roullette tables and massive crowds around the Craps table.. I think i got to the first slot machine and boom a crisp brand new 100 dollar note goes in. I press max bet 200 credits which is a 2$ bet and before i can even figure out what the scatter symbols for the bonus feature im just looking down watching the spinning reels.

" Good morning sir would you like a drink" the lovely waitress is here " One large Jack and Coke and urrrm a beer please Budweiser" Now then let me see what are the scatters i re look at the machine and finally realize that 3 Volcano type symbols give me 10 free spins at X 3. Down to 35$ or so and Boom 3 Volcano's***t Woohoo let's see what this pays. A nice 320$ at the end of the bonus round probably because i got a re-trigger. I press the cash out and it gives me a ticket. I decide now to take a small look around because i've probably been sat at this machine for 30 mins or so and it felt like 5 seconds. I see on my way a Roulette table and i throw down a 100$ on black, now this is not a bet i usually do it bores me normally but what the hell i'm in Vegas right let's live it up. Ball drops "2 BLACK" says the dealer and changes my 100$ pink chip to 2 pink chips. Woohoo been here like 40 mins and 330$ up.

A few hours later and i'm still up a lot, perhaps around 500-700$ not done the very common "MONEY CHECK" don't need too i'm winning. See for me the "Money Check" and constantly counting my money is my sign i'm losing, So hopefully we won't be doing that today. I pick up my 2 pink chips and almost decide to go opposite and bet it all on red because i notice 4 blacks in a row, (THE TRAP) every casino loves the trap because we as gamblers believe "IT HAS TO HIT RED" sound familiar? when in reality the ball has no memory of the past 100 millions spins...

To Be Continued

Thanks for the post on my diary casino. Clearly tomorrow is going to be a huge test, but try your best to concentrate on what you have to lose. Its more than money, gambling has lost us so much more than just money. I used to try to stop every month and then fail on payday. The main thing that made me stop was handing control of my finances to my mum.

I believe you have reached the point where you can beat this, you have had enough of gambling its time to give up. Tomorrow will be hard, but day by day you will get stronger. I will be rooting for you tomorrow and hope to read an update to say you have got through it without placing any bets.

Hey there,

Thank you so much for coming by, it is most appreciated and even more great is that you found some peace and calmness reading my entry today 🙂

One full week of freedom! !! Great, really should be proud. It is not easy journey, in fact it's journey for life, but you started it on a right track and may it continue all the way. Every day is different, like in non compulsive persons life, we just tend to deal with tough days in different manner...sort of make it more complicated to ourselves. But each day you abstain you are getting stronger and more determined to face the battles ahead. Facing troubles head on, fighting for yourself and ur loved ones, something really important in recovery. Never be scared to face the demon, it will be there, close to you, patiently waiting to jump in.. show your strength and kick it out of your life for good!! Never give up giving up, it is worth nothing, and you are worth all the best out of this life. You can do it and you are doing it so be proud and enjoy all the benefits you are gifted in your continued abstinence

Take care, stay safe and have a great day

Day at a time

Sandra x

@ Spaingone if you read my last Vegas story stay tuned it turns out shocking. The story starts off really great with so much luck on my side but like anything you have only won if you get out the casino with the money or bookies with the money and never return etc. The story does not end well at all.

Guys and girls i just did something i have not done in a very long time. I sat my wife at the computer with me and we together did a manual transfer of my wages to her bank account. The money has left my account. I did not spend a single penny on gambling, believe me when i say this i have never done that since i have been married. I have been married 8 yrs so there we go. I am gamble free today again and sent all my wages home except for the bills i have to pay back of course. I am effing chuffed with myself. Now if i can do it and im the biggest gambling degenerate out there, you All can do it too.

I swear to you a lot of people on here have helped me through today and i thank you so kindly. This truly is a tool i wish i had come across years ago.

Well done my friend, that to-day was a massive step, now do you feel a whole lot better? now that the evil casinos/bookmakers have not got this month's wages. Great start onwards and upwards, keep on here it has obviously started to work for you. Brilliant result for you.

fella thanks for you kind words upon my thread, I am glad you have found the forum a great place to gift yourself therapy in the medium of writing about your gambling life.

In black and white they are always quite shocking, whatever the stakes the end result is for me always the same, for the compulsive gambler no punt will ever bring an end result, just compel you to place the next punt.

A huge well done in the actions you have taken today, long may they continue.

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back

WHAT DID I TELL YOU- you are LifesWinner - well done on fighting those urges and transferring all your money to your wife's account. Keep being strong and fight on and you will continue to be LifesWinner. Hope your wife had a lovely Mother's Day. So pleased that you managed to do this and I think it speaks volumes about the love your wife must have for you supporting you up in this. Keep strong.

Thank you everyone for the nice words.

@ MO yes you are right at day 8 and sending my hard earned money to my wife i feel like lifeswinner thank you for visiting my diary to say that.

Believe me day 8 is easier than day 7 most likely because i did what i set out to do and looking at the bank balance today there is very little money in there so no temptation or urges so far. The money will reach my wifes account most likely tomorrow so i will celebrate with her with a nice bottle of Chateaux Denuff de pap or however it's spelt. My goal this week is very simple is to read most others diary remind myself what i have done to others and loved ones and post as much positive feelings i can in them. Also i will be checking in to the challenges especially the Christmas Challenge. I slept good last night very good because sending money home to my wife felt rewarding and knowing some sh*tty gambling website didn't get my hard earned money.

See you in your diaries.

Hi CasinoLoser,

A huge well done in reaching some massive personal goals this week! Your attitude is very positive and thats a good thing. I'm sure your wife will start noticing the difference straight away, however the trust may take a little longer. Just maintain what your doing and you will be fine 🙂

P.S Hope your enjoying your time in Dubai.

Hi CRL,

I don't always have as much time to post as I would like but wanted to make sure I stopped by your diary today to see how you got on. First payday is an enormous milestone; congratulations.

Thank you for the post on my diary. I prefer to think of recovery as a series of battles rather than a constant struggle (although you are right the demons have been present often for me of late) and dealing with them one at a time helps me not get overwhelmed. Some battles can be anticipated others catch us off guard but thinking to much about the past or future is dangerous for me and has led to mamy a relapse. Anyway you won a huge battle today and should be very proud of yourself.
