Hello everyone,

Im not counting days anymore im just taking each day as it comes. I have been taking time out with family the past 48 hrs i have just showered my family with love and affection and just spent so much time with then instead of in front of a laptop. I am feeling very good have zero desire to gamble. Like Rainman i have my guard up though. I am at peace with my financial losses but i am not at peace with the fact i am a CG. I will work on this each day at a time. Gambling for me was a routine habit and now i just need to escape it.

Feeling good and will write on others diaries today at some point got a big day of clients and patients to deal with.

Hi Life's winner great to hear you're enjoying the best things in life that are free - love and affection from your wife and baby. Keep being strong! I'm like you and have stopped counting the days but not being complacent as know the consequences if I go down the wrong path again - it's about taking the time to fight the urges - previously I was giving in and logging on to online sites the minute I got an urge ......I didn't even try to fight it apart from a couple of seconds asmI was logging on. How wonderful it is to be gamble free and I want to remain that way as I do you too. keep living each day small steps at a time and you will get there.

I am happy to report still gamble free. I have not had any time to myself to post my good feelings past few days and the reason is i am giving back time to my family. I am finishing work and taking them both out to go shopping or go for nice family dinners. I thank so many people on here as now im kind of lurking and reading others diaries for more guidance and inspiration. This diary is 100% needed for my recovery. I apologize for not posting in others diary past few days but as you can see my reasons is the time is given back to my deserving family.

Feeling good but never cured and will always be a CG i understand this now it has sunk in. I choose to spend time with family and friends than gamble in front of a computer.

Hello My Friend

Repairing your soul by giving to the people you love is the way forward, those feelings we have to somehow capture and not allow to leave us ! at the sametime remembering the pain and despair after those heavy losses where we have been posessed by the devil itself !

An honest man's pillow is his peace of mind ! work hard and enjoy the simple things in life with your family. Thank you for your continued support on my thread Casino.

Never above you, Never below you, Always besides you, Dark Place

Fella the bottom line is recovery is bespoke, there is no right or wrong way to go about how you arrest the punt, it is the end result that counts.

Keep doing what you are my friend.

Most of all enjoy it

Hey buddy,

Glad your still feeling good and things are ok. As long as you fill your time with positive things then missing out from the forum for a day or two should'nt be a problem. When you get time, I'm sure we would all love to hear the next part of your vegas story 🙂

Take care,

Scambling

Fella that help is something only you can gift yourself,it comes for free, from freeing your mind from addiction, the compulsion to lay that next punt.

the doors on the road to recovery do revolve, there is no limit on the amount of times you can walk through them.

The statistics in my own GA room are frightening, circa 3% of the folk who walk through the doors arrest the destruction of their own gambling for a continued calendar year, the other 97% can't walk away from that self gifted beating and go back at it.

I find those statistics very sobering,it shows how the act of gambling has a very strong hold upon the gambler,f**k it had my full attention for over twenty years before I sort to find an alternative.

Good to see you have not given up on the act of giving up.

Wouldn't it be great to move that statistic to even 4%

You know how to,you gifted yourself freedom from the misery before.

HI Cas, I've read through your diary and found it so inspiring! To see you return in need of support only proves that you are human and it is part of a journey we will all take or have taken.

If its any help i have installed the k9 filter on my laptops and phone (advisable to get a pal to set the passwords though!)

Hope to see you on here as I start my journey Lisa xx
