YAYAAAAAA small milestone done, a week. My goal is still make it to 21 days G free. Today i feel a little fragile as i want to play but i will not. 14 days to go till 3 weeks i will do it this time, i actually know i will do it.

So for me today its to kick urges to the curb, it really helps i have gamblock installed because i cannot look at any type of casino site. Feeling a little bit better but guard is very much up.

Thanks for listening folks.

To tomorrow 8 days.

CL

Hi CL,

Jut wanted to say thank you for the diaries and continuous updates on how you are getting on. I am a gambling addict myself, and have realised in these passed few days something has to give. I have gambled away pretty much every penny I have to my name, and cant bare to even think about what has happened and the losses I have incurred! however reading your posts and up dates I managed to tell my girlfriend the magnitude of my problem. Suffice to say she was angry and annoyed, but after a few hours she spoke to me again and said she would help me anywhere she can. I am self employed so when I do get money, its sacred as I don't know when I may get another payday, but what do I do whenever I receive any money? Of course I gamble it away. Football, horses, roulette. Anything. But not anymore. Today is day 2 for me, and I feel good. I am still annoyed and upset with myself for gambling everything away, and still having nothing, but if I don't overcome it now I never will! Anyway sorry to take over your diaries, I just wanted to say thank you not only to you, but all the others on the post. Just reading the comments makes me feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi jon3904,

1stly thanks for that nice post i hope you get lots of help on here as i have done. This place is my life saver. Well done on probably the hardest thing admitting to yourself you have a problem and need help. 2ndy well done in confiding in your loved one. It is tough at the start but she will def be your rock. I think perhaps start your own diary and get feelings out and reflect on things it really does help. I am in no shape or form giving advice because im fairly new myself to all this but i can def tell you it's working for me. Visit it everyday i will too. Even too say your days is not going well or going brilliant. I can honestly say i have learnt everything off this site all the advice and putting in blocks defenses etc is a winning formula. I am a real bad degenerate gambler or should i now say recovering one and each day i am being rewarded with happiness back in my life. I am so determined this time and i don't mind the constant urges are there i will just come here read write and get rid of them.... Welcome mate and see you on here many times i hope to share your success... bad grammar this time hard to type correctly on an iphone

Hi all,

Thanks for the response, I cant begin to explain how good it feels to know there's others out there in a similar situation out there as me!

I am going to start a diary , sounds like an excellent day! today has been great though, have been busy so I haven't thought about it all, its only when im bored or on my own do I get real urges to do it! Well done to you though on day 7! as I said earlier its day 2 for me, don't think i've done 7 days in about 5 or 6 years! Sounds shocking when you say it! Anyway mate thanks again and good luck to you!

Hi LifesWinner

Remember me? I'm so pleased you are back posting as was really worried for your well being. Keep being strong - you'll make your 21 days just take each day one at a time. Enjoy every free minute with your wife and wee boy. Don't give into these internet sites....the software engineers have written the programs to reel us in but then .......end of the line.....you know as all of us do .....chasing loses and losing more and more. I'm now 53 days gamble free....keep going

I got too complacent last time this time i have learnt i will be very aware. No G for me today tomorrow next week no way.

Well done CL, keep going, it's surprising how quickly the gamble free days mount up, I am on day 50 tomorrow and it only seems like yesterday I stopped.

Keep going and keep strong.
