Anxiety feeling today but it will pass. It isn't something that would make me gamble, just got a few things on today. I'll just go nice and easy and it will pass today. Glad we are all moving along together. Nobody is doing it the right or wrong way we are just doing it! Long may it last. Thanks Paul for post.

Take care

Hi Smiler,

You are right - your anxiety will pass. I have had very acute anxiety in the past, so can empathise. I find that what you are doing is the best approach: just accept it's there, it won't always be, be kind to yourself, and don't make it your only focus.

I am having a much better day today. I still think my wedding ring will be found at some point, but I am focusing on other things as I can accept that I don't have it right now.

I have been reading a book called 'The Secret' which is all about positive thinking. Some of it, is a bit too far fetched for me, but it is true that if we focus on the positive we will attract more of the same. If you are feeling extremely negative, you can't even see the positives even if they are right in front of you!

Even though I don't have a perfect life today, I can choose what I do with my facial muscles, and today I am choosing to use them to SMILE : )

Have a good day,

f x

The treadmill of life goes on. Nothing changrs if nothing changes. I have to get myself moving forward in recovery. I'm not feeling down or anything just ready to move forward. I am tired though from working too hard. Need to slow down but not sure how to do it. Easier said than done. i might just look at flights to London or Bristol!!

Take care

A treadmill it may be, but it's better than the alternative. 'All work and no play' etc...don't screw yourself into the ground, I did it ten years ago and it cost me a wife.

Bristol'? doesn't have the same ring as London...what's going on there?

Hey

Take it easy, we have previously talked about trading one addiction for another. Try not to let over working become the replacement.

London, Bristol who cares , just try to get some me time.

Message sent with the best of intentions.

Take care

Thanks for replies!

I will take it easy but just thinking about a break makes me feel better. The actual going feels like a chore! Got some big nooses cut loose from around my neck at end of Feb so need to be on guard. I am in a good space in recovery and give it total command over my life. Without recovery I am finished. I don't do it half hearted. Not sure were that rant camr from lol. Feeling better today and got a biggy out the way yesterday so easy street and no more taking on new work. Hope everyone is in a good space right now. Please keep posting as I like to see how people are doing. Remeber some days are better than others! Take care

I say book that flight...take it easy....always underestimated how tiredness can affect thinking .. have to remember to put you first in a good way with recovery numero uno which I know you do....Im the same ..it has to com first over everything now even if it means I have to cancel an appointment.

keep clearing those hurdles Smiler..sounds like you are ticking them off and living life on lifes terms....(yeah....nicked that slogan aswell from a meeting) ..your a great example to people.....take care R and D.....

Hey Smiles,

Hang in there, a rant now and then is always good to clear the cobwebs away, I often feel better after one.

It looks like you are working towards removing the nooses as you put it so keep your eyes on the prize.

Try not to work to hard but if you do make sure you reward yourself!

I punish myself to much for some reason al childhood related but not playing blame game here I am responsible for shovelling £20 notes into FOBTs at a speed you couldn't believe. I must take it easy and have decided to take half day tomorrow so can get little one from school and do something nice. Be back later. Thanks for dropping by. By the way dotty that book landed on mat this morning so I'll read it along with other three i'm trying to read. Million miles an hour!! stop!!!!!!

ha ha ..loving that 3 books on the go ...Let me know what you think..

Must be something in the air Smiler and am happy to see your looking after yourself and taking some time off to rest .

Think we are all guilty of panic planning and people pleasing and not wanting to let folk down sometimes. In excess as I do,its a false economy going hell for leather then burning out.

Keep pacing yourself and taking time out to smell the flowers otherwise we just get two dimensional and polarise into work and sleep.Thought about that saying... make hay while the sun shines..maybe we just use less hay and spread it further...lol .. take care

Thanks for dropping by folks. It has been a strange one today as I had a little time to myself and thought I would have appreciated it. Instead i ran round and got little things sorted out. Small steps I guess butone day I'll take a whole day off and do very little! maybe not!!

A quick message for Dusty Fairy, you are not behind me in recovery, not at all. We are all shoulder to shoulder in this battle and sometimes one may be in a better space than the other. We get one and other through the day and that is brilliant. Glad you paid a debt off, I'm closing two out very soon but mybe i should just count them one at a time.

Anybody reading these diaries for their first time please jump on in and post. I was new here once and thought I didn't belong. If you put the work in yourt recovery you will get a stack out.

Take care all!

As ever smiler you are setting a great example for the rest of us, and I am a firm believer that every single little penny not in THEIR tills or machines is a victory for us.

Even though they are big corporations we can still hurt them, by enjoying OUR hard-earned money and not handing it quickly and easily over to them.

Keep up the good fight
