Yo,

Thanks for you post this morning .

Forgot to say you really made me laugh the other day , if I ever here the song okey kokey again I will instantly think of you and the biggest smile will appeare that those around me will no doubt believe I have lost my marbles once again lol

Wonder if your lack of motivation, is partly due to Masie going back to school after all the fun you had this summer . Bit of an anti climax now . Have no doubt it will return , when you are good and ready .

Good Evening,

Wasn't overly keen on having to scroll halfway down page 3 for your diary especially as this page 3 didn't have Mel from Cambridge giving her opinion on Andy Murray's US Open triumph.

Anyway, you will be firmly back on page one shortly and today I think this is where you should be. Leading the way in recovery, dragging me along 3 days behind. We both started in utter despair and turmoil now we both cannot seem to envisage wanting to go back to gambling. Why would we? Despair and Turmoil are powerful and all too accurate.

What two words would sum up our lives now 160 days or so later in your case?

Flagg

23 weeks, 22 days till my next target of 183 or half a year. Life has gone from despair to hope, from turmoil to serenity. The biggest change though is not physical, instead it's my mindset, how I now see myself, how I view money and how I place value on material things. I've managed to swim away from that whirlpool of self destructiveness and now I'm bobbing up and down in calmer waters. I can go anywhere I want now because I'm no longer going around in mindless circles.

Have a nice day, you're successful and string if you resist for today. Be proud, don't worry.

Steve

Off to the gym then a swim. Still gamble free, just over a fortnight to my next target (I like targets, they motivate and keep me focused. I also like numbers, the higher I get the better the view). Had a good week, started doing bits and pieces of work, also bumped into an old secondary school teacher (is it really 30 odd years?) oh ( I interject) how we reminisced about the eight parts of speech. Actually, it was quite nice, it took me back to a lot of happy memories. So for now the fishing gear is back in the cupboard. I will continue to fit in my physio/exercise religiously for I feel much better for it. There are always gyms around schools. What time is left will be dedicated to the little un which is always great. They do grow up quick though, I remember people saying that around me when I was a child and thinking 'don't be bloody stupid, life can't get any slower,' I think it had been raining for two days at the time.

Overall then, I feel great, I haven't won the lottery or caught up in an exhausting ménage trois but what I do have I appreciate for I know and remember how bad it once was. This memory will act as my candle to light my days for a while before the creeping inevitability of taking life for granted takes over and I'm worrying again over truly meaningless things, as we do or will I? Take care all, keep believing in yourselves and never give up. Those that fight and succeed in bettering yourselves or fall but pick yourselves up to continue the fight with bruised fists, I admire you all. You are the ones out of millions of addicts who are trying their best to say 'no, enough is enough.' good luck to you all.

Enough is enough..... acceptance is futile... action is necessary... fishing is carp.... Bridge is the answer to a weak response .. just a whole lot of questions...

Hope you are weller....er... and close , if not in, the employment of your destiny.... "those that can..... teach"... We know the truth of that.

Well good day to you Sir Steg,

just to say thanks for your messages, it really was what I needed to hear. Not decided in which direction to travel at the moment, but Blondies words of direct wisdom do make sense to me... this place is a "distraction" in a positive way, and maybe that's what I need at the moment to get be back on track.

Thanks again mate.... truly appreciated.

Jon

24 weeks, 15 days until I reach my next target. 'That'll do me cocker' as my St. Helen's uncle would have exclaimated. Just woke up from a good dream, locked in a model shop with the female cast from Emmerdale, I was entertaining them with my knowledge of late Victorian steam engines before each and every one of them chose to take their own metaphysical lives, which was a shame because I was just about to go Post Victorian and talk enthusiastically about the green wonder of the Mallard. If you're still there and you're not contemplating putting your head in the oven too then I just want to let you know that I'm still not gambling and I'm aware I need to get out more. Back to bo bo's. I can only hope the sandman takes me and the Spice girls to a nice pottery lesson or something like that, well you can dream cant you.
