Well done Tazman, not far off a year now! I'm on day 223 and excited for the Euros to begin. There will be some hardcore advertising of it from the bookies but I won't let it tempt me! Just for today!

Its been a while but good news to report as all is calm and its day 240. The longest period in my adult life without a bet and its all going well! Really enjoying the Euros, the football is so much more enjoyable and stress free if you don't have money riding on it.

Awesome diary mate. You set out to beat this and did just that. Makes it sound easy reading your diary but I know there has been tough times. Good to see that if you really put your mind to it though you can do this. Sounds easy to just say forget the gambling and do something else, but that’s what you seem to have done and it’s inspiring to read.

Thanks Wierdfish! Its day 254, the longest period in my life bet free since I was 16 years old, I'm now 44. I've tried so many things in the past to stop my gambling, its never really been enough and I have always slipped back into it. Whats working for me now is a combination of everything I have tried and also the exclusions are so much more robust than they used to be. I think the only way I could really gamble now is on track. Online is a no, bookies are a no as even if I travel to one I think the way I gamble would alert them to who I am and that I'm self excluded. So that all makes me think its just not worth the hassle.

I've not had any urges in a long time and long may that continue. Just for today!

Thanks Pink Lady, hope your recovery is going well. Its day 272 and I'm still going strong. Less than 100 days now till the best fireworks night of my life. Really enjoying watching the olympics at the mo and had a week away down south. Not long to go till we head off to the Canary Islands which wouldn't be possible if I was gambling.  Onwards and upwards! Just for today.

Day 284 and I'm pleased to report I'm still going strong. Deep down I think if I could go into the local bookies or bet online I probably would. But as I'm excluded this isn't an option. So I will crack on and keep fighting. Just for today!
