Hi Dave

I have been on this journey with you since I joined this forum almost 2 years ago. and I am sorry to see you slip again.

Listen my friend, one of the things that did help me at the beginning and ofcourse still helps me now, is that no one bailed me out, or is going to, I as you know still am in a lot of debt through my gamblng addiction, and because of the heavy debt that I alone am paying off, even though it's a pittance every month, it keeps me on my toes and keeps me strong.

I do hope this is your time now, but I do think that as long as your wife keeps bailing you out, you won't committ 100% to your recovery, yes she really believes she is helping you but she isn't, my OH used to bail me out and I just carried on because I had the funds to do so, and I had a clean slate, and my secret got bigger and bigger until even if he wanted to, he did not have the funds anymore to bail me out.dont get to that stage with your wife, it will be more then than just the trust gone,

This horrible evil addiction can never be taken lightly, and we will never be cured, but we can abstain and maintain with 100% commitment to our recoveries, I will never trust myself around large sums of money again, and you can't really trust yourself either, why not show your wife now that you are going to change and maybe that can start with her being in control of the money, tough I know but as long as you have access to money, you are making this journey a lot harder than it already is.

You can do this Dave, but we do need all the help we can get, from where ever,

Sending you strong and positive thoughts to change what you know you have to if you really want to.

Day 6,

Reading a post from Charlottex has really made my day. She is such a lovely person and has been a fantastic support to myself and countless others over the years. I am so happy to read that she has gone over a year without gambling. Such an inspiration.

I hope that everybody is having a good, gambling free day.

Day 9,

I'm off to see a counsellor for the first time shortly. I'm feeling quite nervous to be honest but I know I have to make myself do it.

Best wishes to all.
