Hi Graeme,
Well done Graeme, there definitely is a light at that end of the tunnel, as long as we stay strong, by abstaining and maintaining,

128 days gamble free
With my money situation getting better i can feel the urge to gamble more and more. This always happens but i must not give in to it.
Hi Graeme,
I know exactly what you mean, I have actually had spare pennies for the last 2 months now and today my redundancy money went in.
Was already worrying about yesterday, the urges get very strong when we have spare cash, because we have not had any for months, we have been living on the minimum, bottom line, with out an inch to spare, and if any sudden extra bills had come in ie like car breaking down ,anything with house, we lived on none of that happening, and that was a different kind of buzz for us ( if that makes sense) it worried us, but now we can pay for any small emergencies, that horrible addiction is trying its hardest to slide us back in, and I am finding it hard, because I am now used to living on the edge with what if a big bill comes in unexpectedly,
We lived on the edge when gambling , it's still trying its hardest to keep us on our edge now we actually have a little spare cash,
Stay focused, the only way we keep spare cash is by continuing to abstain and maintain.

Hi graeme glad to see you're doing so well. Couldn't agree more with what you and Suzanne have said above, that spare cash only increases temptation. The key is finding that new mindset to be able to cope and move on, but im definitely finding it hard to get to that place.
Up the boro! Went to the match last week we looked really good, think we will be up there right til the end this time.
hi borro , not been on for ages , the site has changed since i was last on aswell , so having to find my way around all over again , not that ide got it that well sorted last time lol , all is good not relapsed as not gammbled since my last stupid stint . I am really really happy and pleased you have done a 100 days and more well done im proud of you 128!!! days now well done, i honestly think last time i gammbled i learned something knew , i learned that if i was up , down or break even money wise while gammbling i learned i could just not stop , not walk away no matter what the situation was , so i have learned i have no self control when gambling none whatsoever , then i have learned then there is no point to starting to gamble in the first place . This im sure is the same for you , so keep your spare cash spend it on your daughter , or open a bank account for her setting up a direct debit maybe and tell that urge to go take a hike as i have learned its just pointless so tell yourself that when you have this urge again . Again really happy your doing well , not forgotton to come on here just felt had to get away for a while. PS i did get emotional on saturday or friday as was listening while at work to radio when a big bit came on about problem gambling , and a few addicts spoke a few people spoke about what there doing to help ie casino people and also someone from gamcare , also a few people who just dont understand who commented aswell although the guy asking questions was pretty good, all the best simon
131 days gamble free
Cheers simon appreciate your comments. I pretty much know the odds are i will gamble again in the future but at the moment i cant control it and probably never will. Plus i had me daughter this morning because she was ill and her mam was at work. She said daddy i love you and you cant put a price on that just make me realise what gambling has done to me bye not being with her all the time. Simon they are a lot of people who have not got a clue about a gambling addiction they think you can just stop which is impossible. But really pleased your doing well mate
Hi Graeme,
Agree with you that most people think you can just stop, they have no idea what it is like to be addicted to gambling.
It's with us all the time, even when we don't think about it something somewhere along the day, reminds us of what we have done, or the addiction is gently trying to get us to just have a little bet, because we have spare cash so it won't hurt, I don't think I will ever be able to trust myself completely as far as gambling goes,
Very well done on 131 days of winning, I know how hard this recovery is at times.
Take care
Suzanne xx

Hi Graeme,
What a lovely strong post to read you are doing just fine, but keep your guard tightly secured and up, because when we have available cash, the addiction comes to us in many different disguises, it well beats us on deception,
Stay strong and focused and very well done on 146 days.
