Not a bad choice Wilsy but it's all about spoilt rich footballers who let us down again and to be honest it is a bit boring.

Sadly the same applies to the 82 world cup song put forward by Smashed.

The judges have decided unanimously that Stephen the Stoic's choice is by far the best song. It is all about the supporters enjoying themselves and having some fun.

Hello Diary. Pleased to say it's now a week since I last gambled and I am feeling quite positive.

A far cry from a week ago when I had just given my monthly works pension to the bookies.

I have just been listening to Heavy on my heart by Anastacia . The lyrics aptly describe how I felt following that crazy episode on the fobt machines.

Hi Stephen, a week will soon turn into a month and beyond! I haven't posted much lately as am stuck in the housework/work hamster wheel of life but I do try to check in everyday and am warmed by the encouragement and compassion you give to others despite your own battles. Take care my friend Sx

Haha Stephen, your post made me laugh. Yeah we all just wake up sometimes feeling a little bit flat and we sigh, not wanting to work and the thought of staying in bed and sleeping until Midday appeals greatly this morning lol! Still another day gamble free come the end of today and another day closer to the weekend and closer to another payday, feels like I am wishing my life away at the moment!

Cheers Stephen!

Hi Stephen thanks for posting on my diary and for your kind words, I’ve slipped on three scratch cards but hated it to be honest it stole my peace of mind. Your doing great! So sorry to hear about your slip but it’s very hard isn’t it. Have you put that mini statement up as a reminder? Good idea it’s there then in black and white not to repeat. I feel so tired one minute I’m ok and so balanced next I’m fighting urges like no how. I really can’t make out what triggers it apart from escape and boredom which I’ve been working on. Anyway thanks again Stephen and many best wishes Lulu x

Hi Stephen

Keep going. Whenever you feel like placing that first bet remember that feeling we all know so well, the one of despair when we have wasted yet a load more money we cannot afford.

Wishing you all the strength in the world to beat this. We are addicts, we live with a couple of beasts inside us. One small one that will nag at us to place the next bet and one huge one that awakens when that first bet is placed. You are 8 days richer, for not betting.

Matt

Thank you for the posts on my diary. I feel solidarity with my gamcare family and encouraged by the support and goodwill that is shared by us all.

I am on day 9 and feeling upbeat about my gamble free future.

Going for a swim later and tonight I will attend a GA meeting.

Seeing my friend tomorrow. Will update her on my progress and receive some money for the week ahead.

Fairly soon i'll be in clover - Gambling days truly over

Wailing done, finished sobs - No more suckered by them fobts

Wishing everyone contentment, good times and a happy, gamble free future.

Thank you for the posts on my diary.

10 days gamble free. Went to GA meeting last night which was good. Going to the gym later, will probably just have a swim and relax in the steam room and hot tub. Watching telly at my friends house tonight. She is being very kind in helping me out with my finances and I will not betray that kindness. She is keeping my card for a year and giving me funds as I need them.

Wishing everyone a good weekend.
