Thank you for the posts on my diary, which are greatly appreciated. Good to see you both progressing well on your gamble free journeys.
chartom ~129 days GF. As you rightly point out, we are, through experience, better equipped to deal with the challenges we will face and as we move further away from the last bet we will gain in confidence.
sjw ~ 203 days GF. Moving steadily forward with a good mindset. You show positive intent, are willing to embrace change and seem determined to free yourself from the insidious gambling addiction.
Hello Diary. 48 days since I last had a bet. No intention of gambling. The thoughts do enter my head but I don't feel unduly threatened. My goal is to achieve one complete year gamble free and I will take it from there. Every gamble free day is another step in the right direction.
After breakfast going for a stroll to the pier/marina and a nostalgic nosey around the Maritime Museum. In the gym later for a swim and Salsa dancing tonight.
On a mission to remain gamble free. Shoulder to shoulder with my friends and fellow gamcare adventurers. Ready to go forward and do what has to be done.
Hi Stephen,
Been a while but thought I would pop by your diary and I am pleased to see you are nearly at the half century gamble free. You don't need me to tell you well done but keep going mate, your doing good. Keep going forward and reap the rewards.
Matt
Hi Stephen,
I've noticed - as you are well aware - that you are one day from hitting the magic 50 days gambling free! I know you've been here before and I know you keep it honest and real, for which I have the fullest of respect to you. Your inherent good nature and personality are what draws so many to your diary; we care about you, Stephen in the same way you so evidently care about us.
We're with you, Stephen. Not only because of this journey, a better path for you, and us all. But also because we're friends 🙂
Mixer

Thank you for the posts on my diary which are very much appreciated.
Matt.. 563 days since your last bet. It is heartwarming to see your quality of life improving. Your recovery is in itself an inspiration and sends out a positive message - "By not gambling our lives can be so much better."
Mixer...251 days since your last bet and you have remained positive, focussed and resilient. I greatly appreciate the encouragement and support you have given me plus all the effort you put into running the Guru Challenge.for your fellow travellers. I am on a mission to gain Guru status of 300 days gamble free and will do my utmost to achieve that goal.
Christer..Good to see you 18 days into your recovery. Prior to that little setback you had a lengthy period without gambling and you have shown courage and commitment whilst coping with personal issues. When life is sad than we can easily be drawn back into gambling and than everything just gets even worse. You have shown a lot of strength in saying no to the addiction.
Hello Diary...50 days since my last bet. That stupid episode on the 28th February when my monthly works pension went in the bank and I drew it all out and gave it to the bookies. Well they're not getting any more because i'm on a mission and determined to travel the gamble-free highway all the way up the GamCare mountain.
Hi Stephen hope you are enjoying this beautiful day and celebrating ticking off 50 days. Am continuing to be in awe of your kindness, enthusiasm and determination S x
Hi Stephen..... congrats on reaching the half century of gamble free days a good strong foundation on which to build a better future, keep up the good work your doing great.
Thank you for the posts on my diary. I have felt a massive sense of relief today at reaching the 50 day gamble free mark. It's put a good distance berween me and the last bet and it also shows that I mean business. I'm not here to make up the numbers, i'm here on a mission to become gamble free. Urges are only in my head and they can't drag me into the betting shop.
Sharon...You are an absolute treasure and such a wonderful example to myself and others. Tomorrow will be a big cause for celebration as you celebrate 400 days gamble free. I know from your diaries that you have faced many challenges along the way but you have stayed strong. Your courage, determination and humour have always shone through.
Chartom... Great to see you forging ahead. You are very determined and seem to have a good understanding of the dangers you might face and the challenges you will need to overcome. I can relate to your posts and enjoy following your gamble free journey.
Hello Diary... Feeling a definite sense if achievement on reaching 50 days gamble free. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and I am feeling on top of the world.
Well done on 50 days Stephen. What a lovely couple of days we've had! You can feel how much more positive everyone around is with the sun out, i've missed it. The best things in life might just be free huh?
Take care =)
All the best.
Just got a minute to say well done Stephen - 50 days! Super duper achievement - even the sun has made an appearance to shine down on you! Haha! 100 days will be here before you know it! X
Hi Stephen,
Well done mate, great going. Delighted to log back in and see you clocking up the days. It really seems to be working with your friend having the card .. might seem a bit strange having to get your own money handed out to you, but looks like it's working for you, so keep cracking on. I've currently switched my compulsive behaviour to playing Pokemon Go with/for my 8 year old ... realised with my personality I have to be obssessed by something but this is much healthier than gambling both financially and in general health (currently walked nearly 900km in the last 7 months .. it keeps track using google maps and you can't cheat and drive as it cuts out if you go over 10 miles an hour). Keep doing great. Rich
Well I certainly feel humbled to have 3 gamcare legends visit my diary. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to give me that support....
sjw ~ 207 days since you last gambled. Positive, determined and you have a very good understanding of the challenges we face.
Little Miss Finding Herself ~ 199 days without a bet and sometimes your hanging on for dear life. You have certainly been to hell and back and still the addiction is trying to drag you back into it's demented and cruel domain. But remember, every time you said no to the urges you weakened the influence that gambling had over you. I love reading your posts, you have a lovely way of expressing yourself in a way that the reader can identify with. Despite your trials and tribulations you have stayed strong, kept your sense of humour and never given up the fight.
Rich...119 days on the gamble free road and forging ahead relentlessly. I imagine your the kind of person who enjoys a challenge and who will stand by his decision to stop gambling. Pleased to see you back safe and sound after your enjoyable family holiday. You brought a smile to my face recounting your Pokemon adventures with your young son. What a wonderful way to share time, have some good adventures and keep fit.
Hello Diary... Fifty two days ne're had a bet ~ Still a bit skint and paying off debt ~ Days come and go and times knocking on ~ Here's Stephen the Stoic and he's still rocking on.
Hi Stephen thanks for your messsge really helps when getting these stupid urges . Im doing ok today . Well done to you too your clocking up those days really feels good when you can start hitting milestones heres to the next 50 gf Take care Bambi x
Hi Stephen. Great to see how many days you have stayed gamble free. Really fantastic. I haven't been on here for a while but very much appreciate your previous posts. Take care - you are doing great x
Thank you for the posts on my diary Bambi and Annie.
Good day yesterday, met my friend and had a walk around Queens Gardens and the Marina. Withdrew my weeks allowance from the cash machine. Visited the cinema ( Film: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society) which we both enjoyed. Back to her house for pizza and watched tv.
54 days gamble free today and in a reflective mood. I read in the news earlier that 700,000 children are badly affected by their parents alcohol addiction. I imagine that most people in addiction love their families dearly and it is just so sad to think of the trauma and misery that people go through for no sane reason. Wishing everyone on the diaries a good gamble free week. Let's all strive to be free from gambling and find peace, contentment and happiness.
Affected by gambling?
