Day 26
Merry Christmas Eve! Family time over the next few days. Can enjoy Christmas this year without stressing and losing money
Day 27
Merry Christmas all 🙂
Day 28
Great day yesterday with family. On way to spend day with other side of family now, more food drinking and games hopefully topped off with an Arsenal win 🙂
Day 29
Hi ALN,
I get your point and for sure if I could drop interest in football altogether that would be a lot easier but football is one of my interests and would find it very difficult to drop it completely.
Not sure if you have read much of this diary but as I mentioned the best thing I have done is get myself a monzo account, there is now no way I can gamble online which is how I have always gambled.
Throughout the years I have tried number of times to limit my gambling but there would always be a week out of the blue where I couldnt control it and before I knew it I would go from making deposits of £5/£10 to £40/£50 and lost all control, at least I cant do that anymore.
Its been 4 weeks now and I dont miss gambling, have been able to put away a few hundred pounds more this month then I usually would have been able to if I was gambling and that feels good.
It has almost been a month I will keep taking it day by day and see how far I can go.
Day 31
Still going strong, just had a busy few days with family and friends. No temptations.
Day 32
Managed to somehow watch the Arsenal match till full time, less said about that game the better.
Back to work tomorrow for half day after a nice week off
Day 34
Happy New Year!
Wish all of those who are struggling with this addiction the strength to give up, you can do it!
Day 35
After a great Christmas and New Year its back to work 🙁
Not much more to add, watched Arsenal get a win last night with no temptations.
Will be booking summer holiday in the next few weeks so will be putting more money for that aside to keep me focused
Day 36
Still going strong just over 5 weeks in, 10% of a year done 90 to go, taking it day by day
Day 37
Not much to add, watched the game last night with no temptations. Im not tempted however because I can no longer gamble online, If it wasnt for Monzo and being able to block transactions this would be a lot harder.
Day 39
Slight temptation yesterday. Was out with a few friends when one decided to pop into a bookies to place his Saturday acca.
Luckily my other friend doesnt gamble so I just stayed outside and didnt set foot in there.
My friend knows I like a gamble and asked if I was going to bet to but I was just honest and said I was having a break from it.
Day 40
Very busy day yesterday didnt even think of gambling.
Day 41
Watching the Tottenham Chelsea match hoping for a Chelsea equaliser. Would back another goal if I could, but I cant 🙂
Day 42
Busy day at work then went straight to gym for an hour. Watched the Man City game, poor Burton.
Day 43
Read through quite a few old posts from this site yesterday. Made me think how badly I dont want to go back to my old ways. Busy day at work ahead, nothing planned tonight but at least I want be glued to my phone like the old days.
Affected by gambling?
