Day 125

Busy weekend with the family for Dads 60th. Watched both games yesterday with no thoughts of gambling just a few drinks with the family, hopefully an Arsenal win tonight

Day 126

Good win for the Arsenal 🙂 Nothing done yet but in a good position. Starting to get used to watching football matches without having to gamble on them.

Had a quick read through my old posts yesterday from a few years ago which was a reminder of how bad it can get.

The last time I gave in it all came from a harmless £10 bet and then it became an addiction again. I havent lost much in terms of money but have lost so much time thats the main thing for me I dont want to waste anymore time gambing

Day 129

Another week which has flown by, not many temptations.

Tomorrow will be a tough test, it was the Grand National where I gave in after 139 days last year.

I dont bet on horse racing but the national is something I have done for the last 10 years.

I have a few picks but I am planning to just stick with them in my head, not put any money on and see what happens.

Day 130

Happy to say I made it through the day without giving in to the national. I had a pick in my head that came third so glad I didnt give in as nothing would have come from it anyway.

Not far off beating my last attempt of 139 days now.

Day 139

Today marks the same amount of time I reached last attempt. Feel in a much better position this time round and more blocks have been put in place.

I was ‘only’ losing £100-£150 a month when I was gambling but having that extra bit of cash each month helps a lot and I do not restrict myself any more like I used to.

Nice short 4 day week ahead hopefully Arsenal can get a win tonight, or at least not lose the game

Day 147

Very good Easter weekend. Was very busy with family so no chance to even think about gambling. Lots of football coming up over the next few weeks to complete the season so will have temptations but nothing right now.

Day 154

Almost gave in on Saturday, was out with friends and they all had a bet and I was tempted but just said no to myself.

Only a few weeks left of the football season, just want to get through that then the summer break should be a lot easier

Day 164

Good week, been able to watch this crazy week of football without any temptations, its been so unpredictable.

Arsenal through to the final, Chelsea very lucky but fancy our chances against them.

Day 168

League football now over for a few months will make it a lot easier to stay clear. The beginning of the season is when I usually struggle not to give in but lets see how they next few months go first.

Day 170

My w**********l account was open again today after a 6 month self exclusion. For the first time ever was not tempted and self excluded straight away again for another 6 months.

I know that I can give in at any moment but feel good at the moment and not missing gambling at all.

Hi CM3003

Well done on 170 days gambling-free. Also congratulations for exceeding your previous target of 139 days. I am glad to hear that you were not tempted by the less restricted situation and made the prudent choice of self-excluding for another 6 months. Feeling good can be its own reward, I hope it continues for you. Thank you for continuing to update us on your journey and being an inspiration to others.

Best Wishes

Day 180

Busy week last week at work. Hardly thought about gambling due to lack of football which definitely helps.

Just under the halfway point to a year gamble free. It will be tough to go a whole year but I have a lot of blocks in place and feeling good. Will continue to take it day by day.
