Cheers Blondie, and it's really good to see ... or hear that you are "bouncing around " your office... I assume they already think you are mental and that you are not attracting too much "out of the ordinary" attention from it.

In case I miss posting tomorrow.. congratulations on your 50 not out * waves bat towards the pavillion*... and as Geoff Boycott would say..." She must go on to make a century now!"

May the happier days keep rolling.

Stay Strong, Stay focused towards a happier future.

Jon

50 tomorrow, good for you. Know it's not been an easy journey but as they say the best ones never are.

Your next mission should you ask is to get to 101 , is it a Dalmatian you are getting ???

Hug , kisses and congrats , for tomorrow,

( just in case I do not post , cause I am on a mission myself , the secret ingredient to make this mission successful VIM lol)

Hi Blondie, I'm glad my posts make you laugh, recovery although serious can still be fun as well. Just want to congratulate you early for reaching 50 (doesn't time fly!). Life is so much calmer now or at least it is for me. Take care, enjoy your achievement but then again every day you don't gamble is worth enjoying. Take care, Steve.

THE BIG 50.....

As i reflect on the past 50 days i think about how my life and more importantly I have changed. I like standing up to life, i dont for one minuete miss hiding behind a roulette table or a fruit machine. I like the fact that i feel stronger to face things, I love the fact that im trying to make improvements to me and how i react to people and situations. I also feel like im not 2 different people anymore, the gambler me and ME, I think i am slowly merging into ME, and it feels great.

I have tackled many things in the past 50 days, I knew that wouldnt happen overnight but i can see changes and that pleases me no end. I am happy that i took on the councelling, i feel it brought some acceptance of my dads death, it never takes the sadness away and the yearning for him to be in my life, but i accept it which means im in a better place that i was.

My family have had more time with me, i havent been distracted by my next bet or how i was going to pay the bills. I have money in the bank, from my last pay day and its payday again on friday. Ive settled one debt and the rest will be tackled. I took a big step by attending G.A meetings and I got something out of that also.

I love being 50 NOT OUT, I wont be putting this bat down anytime soon, I will take it all in my new found confident stride, "ONe day at a time".

And the most important thing in the past 50 days has been this site, and YOU reading this post and everyone who has inspired and supported me throughout. I THANK YOU ALL.

Blondie THE BIG 50...... AND NOT OUT.

Good morning Crystal..... BIG WELL DONE ON 50 AND NOT OUT....

I hope you have got similar feelings to mine from yesterday - sun shines brighter, people smile wider, roads and paths are straighter, work is easier and so on... and this is still just beginning, so what a great future still lies ahead... problems are not disappearing just from the click, but every day you can tackle them in the straight fashion with clear mind and fresh-built confidence, something completely unreachable in dark gambling times.... well done again and take care. K.

Hi Blondie,

Congratulations on reaching the big 50, wonderful feeling isn't it :-).

Pleased you have got as much as you can out of counselling, GA meetings and this Forum. We will always be standing beside you and be proud of yourself. Now go on to 100 not out, one run (one day) at a time :-).

Enjoy your day.

Hey,

Well look who made 50 days 🙂 you know what I'm

Going to brag a little bit now but I knew I would be reading that 50 day post! The early posts are so Informative and despite the fact you were suffering and there was much hurt in your posts, it was clear there was a real determination and a great willingness to stop! Your success so far is absolute testament to the hard work and commitment you are putting into your recovery! It's as if you took a deep breath and said ok I've tried before so what can I do differently! So, you did online GA then you went for the counselling, then you went along to GA! It's this full commitment and openness to try things to aid your recovery which is so heartwarming! We all say wanting to stop is the key and you proved you really really wanted to!

Forgive the sporting analogy but you really went for the all out offensive approach, it's worked and now mayb the time is right to get that bat up which you described and shield, play a little defensive! By that I simply mean maintain the things which are clearly working, maintain the barriers, and maintain the work ethic! I guess stabilise maybe a better word really not defensive! I guess we all wanted that originally that bit of stability!

I honestly cannot praise you enough, well done 🙂 looking forward to your day 51 or day at a time :)!
