Well done mate!
Easy.
Not like you to miss a day or two, I hope you're
ok
'Are you still living a gamble-free life? Please keep us updated.'
Are you OK, Pelle? Virtual I may be, but I am genuinely concerned by your lack of posting. If you've had a lapse, you need to get it off your chest.
Additionally, I hope all is well with your OH.
I apologise for not having posted since the end of last week. I lost internet connectivity at home over the weekend (computer playing up and had to restore the machine to factory defaults). It has now been restored. I was also out all day yesterday at an antenatal class, which was long but useful. I am attending a course today, tomorrow and Wednesday between 9.30am and 5pm so gambling is off the menu. As I have said before, I am only interested in betting on horse racing so as long as I am busy during the afternoons, I am generally safe. I am not interested in dog racing or virtual racing. Anyway, I am still gamble free and looking forward to reaching Day 150 in a couple of months' time.

I ate some pancakes this evening to acknowledge Shrove Tuesday. It is Ash Wednesday tomorrow and, therefore, the penitential season of Lent is about to begin: 40 days (excluding Sundays) of austerity, self-restraint and penance. I am going to give up chocolates and sweets, which I should not be eating anyway. I am also going to avoid alcohol wherever possible. Cycling to work is to become mandatory. Betting on the horse racing (including the Cheltenham Festival next month) is a complete no-no, as are any other forms of betting. I am looking forward to reaching Day 150 in early April, but for now it is one gamble-free day at a time.
You could always give up giving up gambling
I need to stay gamble-free during Lent and, therefore, need to be on my guard every day. I know that next month's Cheltenham Festival will tempt me, but I must stay strong. It is the premiere horse racing meeting of the National Hunt calendar and I have always liked to have a bet on some of the big races, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup. However, I will abstain from betting on any races this year, but I do wonder whether I should let myself watch some of the races for the sake of the spectacle (without having a bet). I tend to feel that this would be dangerous as it might tempt me to get financially involved. Having said that, I can watch football without feeling the need to have a bet. However, perhaps football lends itself to watching for interest/pleasure (especially when one watches their own team), whereas horse racing loses some of its point when one is not trying to predict an outcome through a bet. Anyway, for now, I shall concentrate on getting through today without gambling.

It is 10 months until Christmas and my current Experian Credit Score is 815 (Fair). It has improved by 84 points since last month. The amount of outstanding debt is £9,590 (down from last month's figure of £10,151).
Keep up the good work. And keep that debt going down, I can promise you that children aren't cheap.
When is your projected debt-free day?
