Day 323: no gambling today.

Day 327: no gambling today.
It is 3 months until Christmas and my current Experian Credit Score is 963 (Excellent). The amount of outstanding debt is around 6,000 GBP.
Don't you think it's amazing how it bounces back so quickly? How can it go from 'poor' to 'excellent' in less than a year? It doesn't really tell you anything.
Perhaps you ought to cancel your subscription and save a few pounds, now your curiosity is satiated.
You really are an early bird! Yes, I am going to stop subscribing to Credit Expert at the end of this month. However, it has been useful - it details all of my debts and credit applications past and present, and it is a good overview of my credit worthiness. The reason my credit rating was so poor at the end of last year was because I was continually applying for credit cards and loans to either fund gambling or pay-off gambling debts. Now I have stopped gambling and stopped applying for excessive credit, my credit rating has repaired itself. I am still in debt but it is managed debt and is less than half of what it was a year ago. I dread to think what would have happened if I had continued to gamble this year.
Day 328: no gambling today.
I am not happy. My bicycle tyres have been slashed by mindless thugs. I am now taking a taxi to work with my bike in the boot. I shall have the tyres and inner tubes replaced plus its six-month service carried out. I could do without the extra expense right now.
s**m of the Earth.
bad luck, pelle
Day 329: no gambling today.
Day 330: no gambling today.
This has been a long, tiring week. I all but completed a project I have been working on for the past year, but the finishing touches will have to be applied on Monday as I ran out of time today. My colleagues seem impressed with my work this year, but I think I could have done things better and much more quickly. I waste a lot of time procrastinating and thinking about my debts, but at least I have not been gambling - that really affected my work in a negative way last year to the point at which I messed up a project quite badly and consequently cost the company money. Anyway, I am now closing in on a year without gambling. Looking back, it is depressing to realise how quickly it is possible to accumulate gambling debts yet how long it takes to pay them off. I still have thousands of pounds left to pay off, but at least I have made some debt-free inroads.
thank-you for the astonishingly astute comments on my diary this morning. You were describing my thoughts to a tee, except I wouldn't say my life is lacking excitement (with 2 children under 3)...just lacking the excitement that nothing else can provide. And, yes, my obsession with gambling has just been replaced with one about debts; I am also interested in numbers in general, not in a geeky way but ,well, it's hard to explain really but you probably know -2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19, 23 being a prime example. So, assuming I don't gamble again when my debts are cleared, I'll have to find another way to occupy myself.
Affected by gambling?
