This coming week is going to be busy and I shall be working flat-out at work for the next few days. I must meet an important deadline tomorrow so will aim to be at work by 8am and work solidly until my work is done, which hopefully will be completed by 6pm. Projects are mounting up, but at least I am not trying to do them alongside gambling, which is exactly what happened last year and ended up with most things going wrong. I need to pick up my bicycle, which has cost me the best part of £100 to fix. Still, it should at least last me for six months until the next service is due. Certainly cheaper than throwing away a few thousand pounds on some donkeys running around a racecourse.

I collected my bicycle today after having two new tyres and two new inner tubes fitted plus a general service, which set me back almost £100. I start the month deep in my overdraft. Still, I can begin cycling regulary again, which will see me saving £5.40 per day on tube fares for my commute to work. £2.70 saved today as I cycled home from the bicycle shop. Apart from saving money, I need to source some other revenue streams - online surveys are time consuming and only pay £0.70 per go and I can usually only do one per day. I need to start thinking about the expense of Christmas. Forward-planning needed.

My tyres were slashed again last night along with several others. Have to wait a week for new tyres. Not happy. More money wasted. Money situation worsening.

My diary is one year old today. Although I am still in debt, I was in a real mess this time last year: I was about £12k in debt last October, although through further reckless gambling that rose to about £14k by the start of November, which is when I finally decided to bite the bullet and put a stop to my gambling addiction. I am now around £6k in debt, but it is under control, and I feel much more stable both mentally and physically. I am looking forward to smashing through the one-year barrier at the start of November. My debt-free day will probably be sometime towards the middle of next year although I would like to bring it forward if possible, but I do not want to rush the final stages of my debt recovery.
