Ok ok ok, so i got my circles and semi circles and circumfrance thingys mixed up, Im sure duncs didnt notice im a complete blonde bimbo lol..... I was having a bad day and slightly distracted , well thats my excuse and im sticking to it.. lol.

I havent seen the article but it pains me to know that there would be more of those evil machines in existance to drag more people to the depths of despair. Terrible terrible things !.

I know the very person for the case "My Mum" she once sued machester united for not keeping there training ground fence in good repair... If she can take on the biggest football club in the world she can take on the government lol.

Hope today is kind to you and you keep creeping round that ever growing or decreasing in my case CIRCLE....

Well I with honesty thought you could not bring much more to my recovery, you have given me a smile when I need one, laughter,food for thought,questions and there answers now yesterday you brought tears, tears of joy,I am doing this for real, warts and all and with you looking over my shoulder and covering my back, I do know I will continue to beat this addictio, just for today Thankyou Shiny, I will raise a glass to you(dandelion and burdock) Chink Chink!!

Evening All

Sounded like Dicon of Dock green then?

A long day at the goal front has ended.

But it's done now and I have a couple of days off.

What I would like to do is tackle the garden , but three things need to come together for that to happen.

1 I need the weather

2 I need to have the energy

3 I need the motivation to start to tackle what is essentially been turned into a tip for the last year .

Lots of bagging up of rubbish, I have an old telly out there, a computer desk , a trampoline that no one has bounced on for probably 5 years . Oh and my old mattress which I recently replaced.

So as you can see m this will take determination of the highest order to turn this ugly ducking into the swan I want it to be .

So we will see , will I get up and decide to use all the skills I needed to stay gamble free, and get the dam thing sorted , or will I hide away and continue reading the latest Janes Paterson book .

Only time will tell.

Garden, emmmmm sounds like a bit of hard work there, i did mine monday , done my back again lol lol but maybe thats just cause i'm getting on now, did think if i hadnt gambled could have had a gardener but only if he'd looked like Christian Grey (fifty shades) lol and not sure how much of the garden would have got done lol lol but hey ho i had to do it myself!

Deep in the undergrowth of the shiny garden we see this very rare and endangered species "The matress", its very hard to make out as its hyding in the bushes, just behind the un-used trampoline. Its a bit dissapointing that today we havent seen that magnificent beast "The fridge freezer" but they are commenly found in the northern hemesphere.

You could compromise and do half the garden followed by a few chapters of the book whilst surveying your hard work.

Well it's midday and I have not really made it into the garden.

Did squirt a bit of weed killer and brought some gardening gloves , does that count ???

A weird morning , got called on this morning to do duty job for an hour this morning. ( as Dusty I explained I have a real job and a second job which I have to do most days for an hour or two . Which I do not get paid for but is part and parcel of my life)

Then I met my dad to get his shopping, , bless him.

But today my lovely dad asked to be taken into the bookies to put on his annual footy bet. You know who will win the league ect. I never say no to my dad, cause well he can not do it himself being almost completely blind.

So in we went, guy behind the counter doing a double take , thinking there's a blast from the past. I struggled filling out his slip as I have never put a footy bet on.

Did at one point glance over my shoulder , at the fobts

No one was playing them

I did not think I really a go on them, or maybe I will come back when I have dropped dad off and try my luck with a tenner.

I honestly I thought , good no poor soul is standing there doing their dosh.

I did feel really quite uncomfortable , and very ill at ease .

Any how done now , dads happy , can cheer his team on during the season, so that good .

Will I get out into that garden laters , maybe but if not there's always tomorrow, cause now I have my gardening gloves I will not be able to make any more excuses lol

Still middleing but just a tad on my guard .

You did well this morning... not because you didn't gamble or have thoughts, but because you faced something that you had to do and maybe reaffirmed yourself that you have changed, your brain is rewired to some extent. Thats what I think I found out yesterday to a lesser degree.

And being on your guard is not a bad thing, its the right choice, the safe choice...

You are wise oh Shiny One.... and I appreciate your words of wisdom on my diary, be they viewed by yourself as kind, harsh or indifferent... it never matters, they are given from your heart and will never be interpreted differently by me.

Thanks for the post we do seem to be singing off the same page a feeling which is nice,so gardening for you my dear(must be something in the air sarah did ours yesterday Lol mind between me and you i reckon she paid the kids) me I am grafting it hard in my kitchen come sauna!!!!!

Thanks for the post as always. I have my own little middle going on right now and I like it. It's great people like you that have helped me to see I will find that middle through determination and perseverance. So today I thank you once again.

Interesting reading your thread today as once again we have a shared theme. I think I would find it very difficult to say to my nan I couldn't go and put a bet on for her. In the past I have done it countless times however, since I have stopped gambling the situation has not reared it's head. What would I do if it did? Deal with it as it arises I guess! Anyway, I think you handled the situation very well maybe it was the only way in some respects but a sign that you have come a long way in your own recovery to just have that fleeting glance at the machines more in relief than urge.

Totally agree with your post I think if I look closely enough I find I'm working the steps in my own way and with this site and being honest with myself and others it's having an impact on me. I just need to keep the bar at an obtainable height and remember its small steps. Impatience is on my searching and moral inventory lol .

Today was I think another step in proving how far you have come in your recovery, gambling will always be there in our faces we cant change that but we can change how we think and react to it. Well done my friend another step to keep you in the middle.
