Hi Lisa,

many thanks for your post on my diary, does make me feel so much better, and tells me that she has a point and I was a little over the top in my anger and frustration. Keep up your great efforts and have a wonderful weekend.

Phil

Thanks all for kind words.

Feel a little odd this morning, not very motivated, probably because i just looked at my phone bill from early may when my last slip was, never gambled on phone before, wasnt a massive amount but enough to make me angry about what else i could have spent that money on, which i suppose if i look at the positive, a few months ago i probably would have thought better gamble to get it back, well NO!!!!!!!!

Booked a few days away in my caravan in august, combining it with a dog agility comp so have something good to look forward to, hopefully my ankle will be ok, did 2 agility runs saturday and its so sore.

Going to try and enjoy this afternoon when o finish work, hopefully watch wimbledon around doing all my housework etc.

Hope everyone is ok, take care 🙂

Hi Lisa.

Glad to see you are still gamble free. Well done. I find its good to look back at bills/bank statements as a reminder ofhow bad things can be but also, how much better thungs can becime again.

Enjoy Wimbledon. Thats what im going to do with the rest of my day off.

Take care

Feb.

Hi Lisa,

Well done for another day gamble free. I agree, getting bills is annoying, especially if all you can see is bloody online transactions( it was for me).But as long as we keep controlling this evil habit, i'm sure there will be big difference in our life as well as statements:)

Keep doing what you doing, and stay strong

Take care,

Sandra

Thanks Feb and Sandra for your kind words.

Well feeling a bit mixed again today, decided a must put an end to my smoking habit as well, i could do lots more if i did, want to spend more time training number 3 dog as she has lots of potential in the dog agility field but cant afford it, so just been online and ordered some patches and few other things to help. My smoking is a bit like how my gambling was, depressed smoke more then get annoyed with myself, bored smoke more, if i can break my gambling i can break my smoking habit. i did manage it a few years ago but then started again so got to stay strong about it. My mind needs to find the positives, not only my health but the freedom. I love training my dogs and due to my gambling i haven't done all i wanted to do combine this with smoking made it worse. So determined to do it, save the money i would have spent and enter more competitions. Sorry i do talk a lot about my dogs.

Keeping my budgets up to date to try to look forward after looking back at my phone bill yesterday which upset me, just looking forward, i have some money in the bank, Why? because i havent gambled!!!!!

Hope everyone doing ok today, take care and look forward 🙂

Hi Lisa,

thanks for asking how my home life is, much better thanks. As an experienced giver upper, obviously my wife has enforced alcohol as a fresh ban but even though she would like me to quit smoking (as I dont snore so much then!), she realises that giving up too many things is not easy and the right thing to do. I would not worry about the smoking just yet, *** the gambling and do the smoking when ready and certainly don't place too much pressure on yourself. I find myself smoking quite a bit and will do at some stage in the future, maybe we could set targets and go for it when ready!!?

Find your dog naming policy quite unique, i will never get my number 1 dog to do anything!!!!!!

take care and have a great day

Phil

Hey Lisa,

lovely to have a proper chat yesterday, it sounds as though those moments in the office alone are the time you will potentially be vulnerable, acknowledge that and continue to fight as you are, keep up the great work.

Morning Guys

Didnt get chance to write on my diary yesterday, busy day at work. Boss has gone on holiday to egypt so had to go through things with him before he went.

Did manage to read a few diaries though, as always an inspiration, keeping me positive that this is achievable.

Got number 2 dog with me today as boss away, shes a good dog and is keeping me company, amazing what conversations you can have with a dog!!!!

No gambling thoughts really, but know that i still need to stay strong.

Hopefully might get on chat later, its good to talk!!

take care all

🙂

Morning everyone, didnt get chance to come on here on friday, busy busy at work with boss being away.

Had a good weekend, no gambling, went to and agility competition with number 1 dog on saturday but it was too hot for her but she still managed two 3rd places which is not bad for a dog who is in semi retirement.

Got number 2 dog with me again today at work, she is sleeping under the desk.

Start my no smoking programme today, wasnt sure if i was ready but going to give it a go. Got my patches on and my inhaler with me. Dont feel too bad at the moment but its only 3 hours since i put it on, but i would have smoked at least 3 cigarettes by now so doing ok.

Will try to catch up some diaries today and maybe get on chat later.

Take care all 🙂

Thanks Phil

Feel really positive about stopping smoking this time. I read your diary on saturday, what lovely words you wrote, it came from the bottom of your heart. I wanted to reply then but i can only read things on my mobile so really difficult to reply.

Thanks again for your encouragement

lisa 🙂
