Good afternoon all.

So I find myself back here again ,just finished a 3 day gambling binge so many ups and downs then finally up followed by the inevitable massive down , I placed my last bet earlier after the slots.

Now I logged off the sites and self excluded from them all.

Gambling has just taken over everything, even the basic mundane stuff ,like spinning slots whilst making food, can't be bothered to eat to busy spinning slots etc lol.

Just madness.

Have hardly any money left for the month but that's no hardship really as I have put myself there many times before.

It's just the brutal waste of time and energy and everything is just thinking about next bet etc.

So all I can do now is budget the money I have left.

Don't dwell on the loss

Be actually proud I had the courage to actually self exclude

Practice gratitude for all I have.

So as of 2.30pm today my last bet was placed.

Afternoon @robert1979

Just seen your post and commend your honesty and openness today.

It sounds that you have reached the point where enough is enough with your gambling harm. It is only you that can do that , so that is great !

For rest of month it sounds like you know what to do, budget and live a simple life. Waking up each day knowing and remembering that feeling today and the feeling you do not want to live consumed by gambling.

Well done on Self excluding, many banks also ban gambling related payments as well.

Hope the rest of the month goes well but reach out to the community to help you through. Chatrooms, forum and the 24/7 helpline when and if you feel vulnerable . I can vouch for their non-judgmental approach on many occasions.

Daily reflection on what is good in your life is a powerful tool, remain positive and know you are never alone in this battle.

Dear Robert,

Sorry to hear about your gamble binge and can relate a lot to what you wrote. That gambling has taken over everything, while making food, for me even going to the toilet while playing slots on my phone!!

And then the massive loss in the end. I know all about it. :((

I hope you are doing ok!!

Hi

There are very few people that abstain from day one of entering the recovery program.

I like many people went back to gambling.

People get complimented on their honesty which seemed very strange to me.

We get to understand that addictions indicated that people had certain emotional triggers.

There certain steps which helped me greatly.

Attend as many meetings as possible.

Hand over all my credit cards and finances over to my wife.

At meetings move on from taslking about money lost or being in action.

At meetings open up and talk about my feelings and emotions.

Talk about the struggles I Had in every day life.

Each time I went back to my addictions or obsessions understand what my emotional triggers.

And the hardest for me reduce and face my fears.

Healing and peace to every one.
