Thanks for the support guys, I really appreciate it. I have been busy doing couple of assignment so I will probably be doing short postings just to keep the dairy going.

Day 4 and Today I will NOT gamble.

Stay strong guys and take care,

Ergos .

Hi all,

I have slipped so many times since my last post that I felt asshamed to post for a while. However, now I got no choice but to come back to my recovery. I will do everything to keep up with it. Gambling DOES NOT bring enjoyment. I have learned it the hardway.

Take care everyone ,

Ergos

High five ergos!

You are ready to move forward pretty much immediately - I wish you knew how long it had taken me to get the hang of that! lol

The day afterward for me, the urge to 'chase' my money would drag me back into a bloody silly cycle of compulsive gambling yet again.

For me, giving up cg-ing is about learning from your mistakes, and using as many strategies as possible. sounds like you have got the hang of the first part - getting back into things that you know will help you like posting on your recovery diary.

I wish you continued success in your recovery,

f x

Hi ergos,

Welcome back, never be ashamed to post good or bad, but hopefully more good, that's what this site is for 'your' recovery.

Keep fighting.

Hi Ergos

You sound like you are in a good place at the moment. We are all here for you and enjoy your time with your family. That is one thing I have noticed about my recovery I have more time with my kids and they don't look at me strangely any more when I "snap" a them for no real reason except I am totally engulfed with gambling and they are distrurbing my "time". Oh the years I have wasted.

Hi all,

I hope you are all well and sticking with your recoveries. I get small urges but no intention to give in.

Today I bought a very quality chocolate which tastes great and it is just for £2. Just two quid for a gift of nature, comparing with hundreds of pounds I stuck into sh**hole bookies.

Recovery is good.

Take care everyone, all the best.

Urges come and go, saying just a couple of quid on a horse would'nt do any harm. But when I take a deep breath and think of that this what has done all the damage so far. That 2 quid usually lead to a 100 in 10 minutes. So no betting or chasing for today.

Take care everyone.

....and doesnt it feel great not betting and chasing losses. Living a boring peacefull non gambling life suits me to the ground.

Its a crazy world, a gambling one.

we lose hundreds then chase to get back even, surely it would make sense just not gamble and stay even, without going through the rollercoaster emotional ride, and more often than not, we never get back even, just dig a bigger and bigger fianicial hole.

Absolutely right, I hate the rollercoaster emotional ride, it usually left me badly drained.

I don't want to chase, because I don't want to gamble.

Hi ergos,

Just wanted to add my bit and say how well you are doing, I know it's not easy, but it's better than the obvious other route.

Keep going,

DT.
