Thanks all xx

I have had a gr8 wknd 🙂

I wanted a lie in this wknd, but Maddison did not agree lol!

On Saturday me and my bf went Christmas shopping with Maddison... we had some lunch and just talked quite a lot we don't normally get a chance we r soooo busy.... it was really nice.

I am so lucky he is gr8 🙂

I have been reflecting a lot this wknd about this journey and I sometimes 4get 2 realise how well I have done. I thought back 2 this time last yr when my family gave me money 2 get Maddison some Christmas pressies and all I wanted 2 do was gamble that money away. But this yr my Nan and Aunties gave me money 2 get Maddison some pressies and I had no thought 2 gamble with this. From my nan I bought Maddison a little silver bracelet... I got this cus I wanted 2 get something she could keep when she is older also something 2 remind her of my Gramps... I miss him so much:(

We also got her a big cuddly toy from the disney shop and a singing Minnie the mouse so far.... I think that will be her fav lol.... It will drive me and my bf mad 🙂

We also got lots of ideas but need 2 check wot others in our family r getting her!

On Friday nite, I watched Children in need... I donated some money and it felt gr8...It was not summat I would have done when I gambled... It made me realise that time is precious and how life can be cruel... I am very lucky! Those children battle everyday with so much strength and courage. Made me feel very happy 2 be able 2 donate a little 2 help 🙂

2day I met up with my friend who is at Uni, we went for lunch and did some shopping 🙂 Got myself some new shoes and a dress 4 my christmas work party 🙂

I will prob not see her again b4 Christmas so I took her Christmas present I had bought her and gave it 2 her. This yr I have not had 2 ask my brother 2 lend me money like last yr. I have bought this out of my money that I have worked hard 4 and I will be able 2 get Maddison some nice things. It made me realise how much my life has changed since I started this journey.. I am soooo proud of myself 🙂

It feels gr8 2 be able 2 do these things this yr, with no stress or worry!

I am thankful 4 all the gr8 things I have in my life and I want 2 say a huge thank u 2 everyone here 4 helping and supporting me. Without u guys I would never have got this far!

I also realised 2day that the few slips I have had on this journey have helped me each time 2 learn something new. I am feeling very postive rite now... I am 2 wks gamble free 2day and smiling 🙂

I hope everyone is ok xx

Evening Char,

Firstly mate well done you are sounding so much more positive and determined! You can beat this we all know its not easy and takes time but one way you will and you know what mate you are...to go even one day gamble free is better than you were when you were gambling.

You are an inspiration and I really do look upto you mate! Your daughter will be so happy on Christmas Day when mummy/Santa has been able to bring her lots of nice presents!!

Sorry Iv not posted in a while last couple weeks have been crazy been getting up half 5 each day to drive 2 hours to Basingstoke to do full day work then 2 hours home...reason I'm doing this is because of my past I need to pay off my debts from gambling I so wish I didn't have to do it which for me is enough motivation not to gamble.

Keep going mate set another target aim for it and let's do it I believe in you!!

Take it easy mate and look after yourself!

Shaun

hey char

I'm really glad you are enjoying yourself again and focused

It doesn't seem to matter what and how many setbacks you endure you keep on keep getting back up and with each day that passes you become a bit more wiser and stronger

So here's to you

I even got the milkshakes LOL but mine had to be strawberry

You can't change the past but you can dictate the future

Hi Charlotte... good to read about your positivity. It put a smile on my face... here is the smile.. 🙂

Its like swings and roundabouts with this addiction isn't it. I seem to be recovering from my gambling event quickly... so thats good. Onwards to progressively better times eh.. regards.. S.A 🙂

Heya Charlotte,

That's the spirit, you're doing great nice you realising all the effort you put in. Glad you enjoyed your Xmas shopping, for me..It's "In and out" lol... Shop's creep me out! Hehe (I love it really! xd)

I have also realised that buying other's is a great feeling too, I alway's even when I gambled had the ambition to do it but never actually quite made it, I did a few of the years but if you miss one they think you have never bought them ever! lol As I am the oldest of 4, i had treat them very well prior to my 8 year gambling binge. I will however, make it back to the way I was and this year just as you are, really go for it!

Me too, a slip was quite a positive step for me too, however If i had'nt come across this forum whilst I slipped I think it would have turned quite nasty again. So like you, I also thank yourself and other great members of the forum for the support.

I think you should see it as I am ...

((Day's Gamble Free Prior Slip) + (Days gamble free after slip)) - 1 (Slip Day)

It seems a lot better, you are more than two weeks in this Charlotte. Honestly!

Have a great day.

JP

Hello,

It seems you have missed me quite a lot. So, I thought I would say hello!

Despite my age I can still do lots of things and although my memory might be going I can still remember the nice people. I think you are one of the nicest even if you are a bit disrespectful towards your seniors lol!

However, after tonight's outbursts your limo has been downgraded to an ice cream van!!!

🙂 Seriously, it's great to see you back and enjoying life again. You know how highly I think of you really!
