Hello murlo. Thank you for my diary visit..

Hope your work went well and you have had some sleep. That was always your public enemy number one.

What to say.. Well I have been deliberately not entering your diary to allow you space and am Content In the knowledge that forum friends connect outside here and give you support.

Chat is still busy one session, calmer the next. Lots of support still happening there.

Anyway this was only meant as a quick thank you but has  extended to a mini read. And am sure you have so much to do. Continue to care and take time for yourself. Your recovery and how you exercise it daily are paramount.

All my love

Boo ???

Hi Murlo

I know you are taking time out for the time being but I just wanted to say thank you. Today I’m on day 14 and that is largely down to the support you gave me when I needed it the most. It truly was and is appreciated!

I hope you’re taking care of yourself and all is well.

Lonely x

Good morning,

It's been a while since I posted anything on my diary and at the moment it's not something I will be doing regularly.

My gambling recovery is going well, I think I passed 130 days yesterday and I can genuinely say I have no compulsion to gamble at all. I am well physically and mentally, very busy at work and at home and I feel as though I am taking it all in my stride and taking time to look after me too. So I guess all there is to say is that things are good right now ?.

love to all recovery buddies x

Afternoon dairy.

I am only popping on because I have had a change of circumstances and it has given me a bit of food for thought. Our household is just 24 hours into a period of self isolation (coronavirus) and already the boredom is setting in. It’s probably just psychological, the fact that we can’t go out and people can’t come to us. Means I am spending some time planning how to fill my time so I have no urge to gamble. All good fun ?

Afternoon diary,

Day 2 of self isolation and so far so good, no gambling urges. I have to say that is probably because I chatted the hind legs off my buddy last night. When I get talking, I just don’t stop and I am blessed to have people in my life that will tolerate that ?

Taking things slowly today. Me and hubby both have shortness of breath and a cough so there’s not much energy being expended at the mo. I even managed an afternoon nap yesterday and I never do that!

Mother and father in law popped some shopping round yesterday and father in law had made us a lasagne, it was gorgeous ?

Quiet afternoon planned, maybe even another ?

Hi Murlo

Sorry to hear you and your husband aren’t feeling too well. I hope you both have a speedy recovery. That was lovely of your in-laws and it is at times like these that shows how we all pull together. The lasagna sounds lovely.

I hope you take it easy and as for having an afternoon snooze, reserving energy and resting is important, especially if you are not well, plus it is another way of passing the time.

Look after yourself!

sending hugs (from a distance) ?

Lonely x

Hello Murlo,

Well done for self-isolating and thank you for letting us know how you are doing.

I hope that your health improves as soon as possible, and that you and your husband are finding the self-isolation manageable.  We all owe you gratitude for the sacrifice you are making and thank you for your socially responsible behaviour.

You can always call us on freephone 0808 8020 133 or Netline if you need to chat at any point.  Congratulations on maintaining your recovery from problem gambling, during challenging times.

In case any other forum members aren't already aware, here is some public health advice about self-isolation:

Take care,

Adam.

Thank you very much Adam @forum-admin for your kind words.

So it’s day 3 of self isolation. I am able to work from home this week as long as I am physically well enough to do so and at the moment, I feel able to work so I have something to keep me occupied in the day time which is great. Everyone seems to be having different experiences with the virus and for me and hubby, the lethargy and cough are the most obvious symptoms. It’s at times like this that I wish I had looked after my lungs a little better....

Anyway, I can genuinely say that I have no urge to gamble. I get a bit bored, but I have things that I can do to fill any voids if I put my mind to it.

All good so far ?

After today’s announcement it’s time for a rethink about mine and hubby’s period of self isolation as it has been extended by another 7 days. It presents us with new challenges in terms of being there for our nearest and dearest but we will work it through.

All I can say is it is a good job we enjoy each others’ company ?.

We can at least appreciate how it feels for others too.
